An interesting idea popped into my head whilst bored in a Geography lesson. What about a Leamington Spa simulation. Its not on the "list" of stuff that cant be done, but no-one seems to have mentioned it before.

Thoughts and Interest below.

Learn, young Tugs, Learn. :: :: I suppose the SimSig forum could be classed as a valid use of resources in a Geography lesson.

You never know what usless bit of info you'll pick up in Geography, that'll come in handy one day

Leamington Spa, being WestCad would not be possible Sam as there is a TreSim simulator of the "real thing".

Additionally, it probably would not really be all that interesting because although Leamington PSB controls about 25 miles of track, aside from Leamington Station itself the Signalmen don't really have to set many routes unless they loop the odd freight at Fenny Compton, and that is probably five a day maximum.

sims dont all have to be all about millions of junctions and shunts. id happily play a small sim with a few moves like youve just suggested as i prefer quiet sims for a nice laid back game. its a shame there arent more 1 player sims

I'll agree on that point, We could do with a couple more sims Southampton sized for single player games.

I agree with the single-player point.

The newer sims since Gloucester have only really been suitable for multiplayer operation unless running at ridiculously slow speed.

Southampton, Gloucester, Stafford or the original Swindon are good examples because although not massive simulations in themselves, they have multiple locations where a player has to route each train, whilst still being easily manageable for a single player to operate.

I know Leamington Spa very well, it was my patch as an S&T Team Leader for three years, and experience suggests it would be a "boring" sim. There are only really two routes in each direction that trains generally have to have set for them unless trains are looped at Fenny Compton, and the only real regulating decisions would be what to send first over the Coventry single line. It might make an interesting training sim, or perhaps could be good with an ultra-intensive fictional timetable and a lot of failures.
