as some of you are aware im in process of making a modern fictional timetable for bristol i have 50% done and after a few more services to boost numbers i enclose a list of current services Via BTM Penzance – Scotland sleeper and vice versa every 2 hrs Regular Plymouth-Glasgow/alternating Edinburgh, perhaps one to Aberdeen, supplemented by Bristol-York, Taunton-Birmingham, etc (hourly) WSM-London half hourly ( some just from BTM) Cardiff/Swansea-Portsmouth or Brighton half hourly stopper Gloucester-Taunton stopper Exeter – Bicester, via Thingley Jn stopper Portishead (Portbury) – Parkway via Clifton Down stopper Rush hour services BTM to Severn Beach, interspersed with above WSM to Parkway shuttle Bristol-Weymouth Cardiff - Portsmouth Fasts (Filton Abbey woods and BTM only) BTM - Waterloo services. Liverpool Lime Street - Paignton and Plymouth Via Parkway London – Cardiff/Swansea, perhaps occasional boat train to Fishguard Harbour Freight St Blazey – Stoke clay trains Portbury – Swindon car train Portbury coal trains Avonmouth – Didcot coal trains Oil train Avonmouth BP to Thytherington Freightliner waste from Barrow Road RTS Also from Filton recycling Bristol Wine Terminal (BW depot) – Tilbury and or Portbury MOD trains Portbury to Ashchurch and/or Bicester and/or Ludgershall Scrap to/from Avonmouth/Portbury Stone/gravel to/from Portbury Specials Railtours Race day specials to/from Cheltenham Races Football specials to/from Parson Street Engineers Ballast tamper NR track measuring Weed-killer Rail grinder heritage loco movements light loco movements Heritage DMU drag from SDR - to SVR feel free to post more and these will be considered Log in to reply |

kind of comes under "railtours" but what about heritage loco movements eg a diesel loco convoy west somerset to severn valley or something similar. or else some light loco movements like a kettle and support coach

Heritage DMU drag from SDR - to SVR. Would need to be at around 25MPH might make things interesting. What about the Cardiff - Portsmouth Fasts (Filton Abbey woods and BTM only) Also BTM - Waterloo services. Callum see edit to my post above. EDIT If it's fictional how about the Liverpool Lime Street - Paignton and Plymouth route making a comeback. Either 47 hauled or HSTS?
