I have finally finished this mammoth project, and will, from next week, be conducting the final timetable test of my 2010-2011 Hybrid timetable. Due to the changes, I am not prepared to release it until it's been tested again (sorry to those who keep asking).

Below is a copy of the notes file I am including with the timetable - of particular note is the piece on regulation, which should be relevant to any South Humberside timetable.

Introduction
This timetable is an edit of the default timetable provided with the sim, but updated and corrected to the 2010 - early 2011 period. Many light engine moves have been added around the Immingham area to give the correct amount of locos on and off Immingham TMD. The coal plan has been much enhanced, and this second version also has more steel trains added.

The coal plan has a number of options for some trains using the same path - please don't delete the rules surrounding these, or you may end up with far too many trains in the sim! The coal plan is largely based around the Immingham end, and as my knowledge of West Burton workings to the West is more limited, there may not be as many services towards Worksop. Rules have been added to some trains to stop them re-appearing having loaded/emptied before the corresponding inward working has arrived at its destination!

The timetable combines various coal plans together with the base WTT for the period roughly from May 2010 to May 2011. I have NOT covered every single option for coal trains, and likewise there were a few changes to the base plan as well. There are rules to stop more than one train running per path, but not to stop different trains from different periods running within the same game (to add such rules would be far too complicated). Also, some trains would have specific day patterns – I have not included this in the timetable, as it would again be too complicated to do so. In practise, this means the timetable is very busy at times, and as such represents a busy day in the sim area. I realise it’s not 100% accurate, but I don’t believe it is unrealistic.

Compatibility
This timetable was written for version 2.218.76.0 of the South Humberside sim. This timetable is NOT compatible with the Worksop default timetable. I have no plans to release a Worksop timetable to link with this one, as this one has the coal biased towards Immingham.

Acknowledgements
My thanks to Chris Lord, Noel Young, Tops Thief, 47519, Lincoln Rail Gen, Officer Dibble and the many, many others who have assisted with the compilation Lincs Locos over the 18 months this was compiled for, all which assisted with the production of this timetable.

Regulation Notes
Whilst testing the first version of this timetable, it became apparent that some players are unaware of the need to regulate the heavy freight trains to allow passenger trains to pass. This is very apparent now the timetable has been re-written with realistic acceleration rates and freight all running to freight line speeds (the default South Humberside timetable is incorrect in both of these areas). Those trains booked to run close to passenger trains are shown as booked onto Goods lines or into loops to allow passenger trains to pass, but in cases of late running, additional regulation is required to keep delays to a minimum.

Here are a few notes on regulation which will help the smooth running of this timetable, taken from real life practises and recommendations, which make gameplay more realistic and will help keep delays to a minimum (and are relevant to other South Humberside timetables too):
• Loaded freights from Immingham which are going to pass Brocklesby within 6-8 minutes of a following passenger train, should be routed onto the Goods Line, where the Barnetby operator can hold it to follow that passenger train. Note – if you send the freight fast line, and then route it onto the Slow at Barnetby, it takes much longer as the train is checked at each signal at Barnetby East until it can gain access to the slow line. Passenger trains are not permitted to use the Goods Line from Brocklesby Jn.
• Similarly, freight within 12 minutes of a passenger train at Barnetby heading towards Scunthorpe should be held at Barnetby (10 minutes for ore trains to Santon), having been routed Goods line at Brocklesby Jn. Note – in real life, there are often phone calls between Barnetby East, Wrawby Jn and Brocklesby Jn signalboxes on such matters to reach a joint decision – it is recommended you communicate with the other affected operators in multiplayer games!
• Freight heading towards the Lincoln line at Wrawby Jn should have at least 25 minutes headway over a following passenger train, as it takes a lot longer to reach Lincoln, where the next loop is!
• Freight heading towards Brigg at Wrawby Jn should have at least 7 minutes headway over a following passenger train.
• In any of the instances above, and in the case of a freight train being booked to stand for a period of time at Wrawby Jn, the freight train being regulated should run goods line from Brocklesby Jn to minimise any impact on other services.
• Freight trains heading towards Immingham (particularly coal trains) should be regulated where loops or slow lines exist to run to time if running early. In reality, the receiving terminal would not be able to accept the train early (it would probably have a train already loading). For empty coal trains heading for Humber International Terminal, there is a section of bi-directional line near Immingham West Jn that can be used (and is in reality). If a train arrives early at it’s destination, then it’s next working may then also run very early (the rules allow for a bit of recovery), which in some cases, may snowball and mean a train running when there is no path for it! Likewise with other early running trains – there are loops, such as Gunhouse and Barnetby platform 1 where freight can be looped.
• Trains entering the sim in the Immingham area early should be held at their entry points where it causes no other conflicts to await their booked paths – this means no resultant delays will occur from these delaying other trains running to time. If still running early at Brocklesby, they should be routed goods line if there is a following passenger train, or freight train booked ahead of the early running one. Hopefully the freight train will have been regulated in the Immingham area at least in part.
• Scunthorpe area – as at Barnetby, freight in the Scunthorpe area should be regulated if running close ahead of a passenger train. The official guidelines are 10 minutes for a down freight, and 8 minutes for an up freight ahead of a respective passenger train. Up trains can also be regulated in Gunhouse Loop.

Other than that – use your common sense! Passenger trains run faster than freight trains. In reality, freight isn’t allowed to run early (without special authority from control). Unfortunately, this is difficult to simulate in Simsig, so needs manual regulation.

The main post above edited after researching the real headways used by the real life signallers. I've also added a section to the main South Humberside topic.

Having problems cleansing the timetable as per the advice given previously - it converts from WTT to TXT, but won't convert back again!

It says "*** Fatal error: String too long on line 11

Convdata terminated with exit code 1"

HELP!

Guess it's one of the desription strings, probably the the general TT description? Try a cut, convert txt to WTT and paste the text back into WTT?

It appears that the description I used is too long for the timetable converter. I changed it to say "see the notes file with the download" (the same one that's copied in message 1 of this topic), and it works!

First strange going on - 6E11 into Immingham Texaco works OK (enters Holton).

0M33 Immingham TMD-Immingham Texaco phoned in at IE19 saying wrong route, expect it was set correct towards the Eastern Jetty.

I can't explain this - don't think it's my timetable, otherwise 6E11 would not have accepted the route.

The other one I had was 6E11 booked off the Lincoln line at Wrawby booked to wait a few minutes at Wrawby. I held it at signal WJ17 (protects the junction), let it go a couple of minutes early, and it then reported arriving Wrawy late, and stopped after the signal blocking the junction! Surely if the train's booked to be held, the sim should stop it at the signal protecting the junction. I know the Brigg line signal WJ8 works for this, but obviously not for WJ17.

Regulation notes updated with Scunthorpe times 17 June. If anyone has used these elsewhere, please update them.

Chris has replied to the Wrawby Jn post in the sim area. Anyone any idea on the Immingham East Jn/Eastern jetty issue?

I don't have and can't currently get the TT so if someone would not mind posting the TT for the relaxant trains, that would be a start.

Daniel, looks like a missing permitted TIPLOC on that route from TMD.

Temporary work round would be to spad loco to E Jetty, as abandoning TT might prevent a rule for working correctly, or;
Set loco TT to run to IMNGSAP or IMNGHEJ38, loco should then exit OK at same point.
