Hi all, Hope everyone is well? Found this site last night and thought I would attempt to download the system files today, but I am not having any luck with the installation. i follow the instructions to the letter, even restarting windows as requested, but each time I only have a copy of the help files and the uninstall file. As far as I can tell I am not doing anything wrong. I am using Windows Vista. Please help as I really want to try out the southampton simulation. Cheers, Lee. Log in to reply |

I think the System Files don't really show them to be installed, as such, it just does the necessary to make the simulations work. Have you tried running a simulation yet?

If you can find the SimSig.fon file then you've installed the system. Not exactly sure what else it does/installs. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Discussed previously at this page of the Forum. If you load a sim and see alphanumeric characters rather than graphic representations of the characters then the system files have not installed properly. It confuses a few people. I wonder whether a sim should be included in the system files?

Either that or create installers with the system files in them so you only have just the sims and the system files is installed if its not already been installed before. I could create an MSI installer for that which would do both but I'd need all the registry settings and so on Log in to reply |

Geoff, maybe a small sim like drain or royston could be downloaded with the system files as a test sim. Otherwise upon downloading the system files it creates a SimSig folder in your system files................... start > computer > local or C: drive > program files > SimSig If this SimSig folder contains a help folder and other files the the system files are installed. hope this helps. p.s if you can see the uninstall file then the system files are installed, vista and windows 7 will only create an uninstall file if an install is completed.
