I was playing SimSig Trent last night in multiplayer with others (with thanks to noisynoel for hosting it :)) and after a rotation I was working the Trent area. At one point at either Attenborough LX or Meadow Lane LX I had lowered the barriers for an approaching train and it flashed up 'BLOCKED' in red meaning because someone decided to run the risk and hopefully learnt a lesson after I'd cancelled the route and raised the barriers. Anyway the multiplayer game ended and someone else (thanks to them also) hosted a KingsX Scrolly multiplayer game and after that ended I went back to Trent (singleplayer this time) and tried to recreate the incident with either Attenborough LX or Meadow Lane LX and finally Meadow Lane flashed up 'BLOCKED' in red. Whilst I wouldn't do this in real life of course (or in a multiplayer game) I finally got a train due to pass that location and after he called me up due to being held at the red signal I asked him to first examine the line to which he reported back that it was clear so I authorised him to pass the signal at danger and he went over Meadow Lane without a problem and never phoned up to tell me that he had struck a vehicle. I even had a second train pass in the other direction a few minutes afterwards and the same thing, no accident or anything.

I remember from my experience of Royston I once didn't stop a train over Litlington after I had a farmer call up with his flock of sheep waiting to cross and the driver ended up calling me to report it. So I was surprised on Trent when neither train driver called up.

Is it at-all possible that Trent could be coded so that train drivers phone up to report it or even so that car drivers phone up to report the crossing as blocked? Perhaps the telephone dialog box could read;

"CAR STUCK ON CROSSING WITH BARRIERS DOWN" (in capitals because the car driver would likely be panicking)

followed by the only reply;

"OK, barriers will be raised in a few minutes".

Also I noticed that it didn't seem to affect my score either (although my score was affected by causing delay to road users).

Of course I wouldn't ever do something like this in real life like I said and I wouldn't do this in a multiplayer game. In-fact I probably won't do this again in a singleplayer game either as I'd likely be too busy controlling other trains...and becuase it takes too long to get the barriers to flash up blocked anyway :p).

Just a thought.

Whilst such a circumstance happens in real life, SimSig as a rule, does not simulate accidents of any type.

Also, if it was a car, I can gaurentee you it wouldn't hang around if it had struck the barriers.. it's surprising how quick these people buger off, hence the driver reports that the line is clear.
