It would be helpful if the length of a train were to be visible when the Timetable menu is selected for any train. Definitely an advantage in multiplayer as the host will not have to keep looking each train up to see if it will fit in any given goods loop, and even in single player the one click of the TD would show this as well as the timetable to avoid having to press F2 as often. Yes some current timetables have meters for freight in the train description anyway. I've started doing this myself now putting meters in for freight trains except for test trains or passenger sets, as I feel this isn't really needed as they fit in half the places they go through, whereas freight can be long or short. They are occasionally provided in the Train Description but it's up to the specific timetable writer as to whether they want to write them in. Though please consider that timetable writing already is (I imagine) a pretty arduous thing to do but luckily some writers already do include them (even though they probably don't specifically have to).
