as a suggestion for an improvement to the F8 simplifier menu, would it be possible to add a column for current status, ie X mins early, late, on time or no history. this would allow a quick summary of all trains through point X and how they ar currently running without having to click on each TD to work it out. joe "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

That would work for trains on the move after an earlier delay or after a late entry, but don't forget that the data would be from the same source as displayed when you click on the TD. That means that a train held up and not moving due to a TCF or points failure shows the delay as per the last timing point that it passed and not its current status. You would still need to factor in the effect of the additional operational problem and mentally adjust the F8 data before making any decisions about regulating or platforming.

The simplifiers at work are printed sheets that, of course, do not update as trains move. One has to check on those trains one believes to be late. So in my opinion, for the SimSig simplifier to be comparable to the real world simplifiers, the delay state should NOT be displayed here. A SimSigger should have to look up how late a train is (by clicking on a Train Description).

(Sorry for the double post, but I felt this was a very different point to make) I have expressed my opinion above, but to appease some SimSiggers, perhaps this feature could be an option for "Easy" mode? However, I don't know how complicated it would be to add this feature, let alone set conditions for its implementation. Log in to reply |

I'm with Matt in that signal box simplifiers do not show delays to services, they only show the booked times of the trains due to pass and that is not even for every location possible, so we are getting more than our real life counterparts get.
