Trains with a stop/reverse at Blaenau No.2 GF don't do so in the Up direction (towards Llandudno Jcn) - a train that should shunt out to No.2 GF and back in again will pass the location without noticing it, and wander off towards Llanrwst! It seems that the location gets picked up correctly in the down direction - reversing a train that's just run off will cause it to find the GF location and stop correctly. No.3 GF behaves perfectly well (not that there's anywhere to run off to!) Save attached - loco is waiting in the platform to go out to GF 2 and shunt back onto its train in the loop. The Light engine bumbles of to Llanrwst just a little bit into the section (That can be fixed by giving it a near end stop). It does then return back to BFSTOP6. If you've got anything down there more than about 170m long you probably want to leave it as a far end stop.

Righto, will keep that in mind I'm having some trouble getting Holyhead Carriage Siding to work - I tried sending in a train to reverse, but it just wanders down to the buffers and sits there. I'll whip up a save later on when I have some time, if you haven't found the problem (whether me or the sim!). I've not tried the carriage washer, yet. Log in to reply |

" said:Righto, will keep that in mindI've just ran a train as follows: Fuel Point (enter) Rev HD86 Carriage Siding Rev HD86 Wash Plant Rev HD86 Fuel Point (exit) and had no problems, the trains will go to the far end of the sidings before stopping by default; To allow you to stack trains, but that can be adjusted through the timetable editor. Hmm, how odd. I'll test again - I'll probably find out I was sticking it in the Washer rather than the CS...

" said:" said:I'm also having problems with the Carriage siding. I want to shunt a rake of stock into the CS and detach loco to move elsewhere. The problem seems to be that the timetable location doesn't step up and the train doesn't "arrive" at the CS so activities don't take place. I've even tried different stopping positions (including near exact) but the train always continues to the buffers and train location remains as HD113 (or wherever I reversed the train.) I can't even step up the timetable to force the activities to take place.Righto, will keep that in mindI've just ran a train as follows: I also tried running a test exactly as you did but the same problem existed with a manual change of direction required in the CS to keep the train going. P.S. Enjoying the sim immensely. KUTGW! Planotransitophobic! Log in to reply |
