Hi As still a newbie to SimSig I use F5 a lot to see my percentage score and saw the following possible bug. I am doing the Timetable C On the Minutes Lost/Gained section after the minutes recovered it says 6377. I cannot of gained 6,377 minutes. See attachment Dave Post has attachments. What timetable is it that you played?

Sorry I didn't see it first time around. I suspect it's an issue to do with how the rake of MK1s is seeded into the sim, I'll get one of the testers to have a look at it and I'll get back to you. This -may- be a core code bug. I have a Euston save with 2416 minutes recovered by 9am, and as much as I might want to believe that I am that excellent, there's no way you can do that many in such a small/congested layout...

The idea of anyone recovering anything at Euston before 09:00 - unless it's a Sunday timetable with the main line shut for engineering somewhere around Hemel - is simply not possible until they repeal the laws of physics Log in to reply |

Can you narrow this down a bit? For example, how many minutes are saved by 06:00? Basically, the earlier (in sim time) you can produce unrealistic figures the easier it will be to investigate.

I think it is all due to run-rounds, light engines etc. with 00:00 timings and similar. If anyone has a desperate desire to keep a score they will need to go through the TT and put "real" timings in. The drawback to that is that you can then end up with one of those moves sitting and waiting for the time shown in the TT before moving (and maybe blocking another move) when you have a real need to get it moving sharpish.

I have also noticed this in Carlisle. I'm part way through the October 2009 TT, with 04.45 start. By 05.00 I had recovered 2850 minutes, with 0 trains passing timing points! These further accumulated at a rapid rate until around 07.00. After that they continued to increase but at a much slower rate. I've attached a photo snapshot and Excel sheet in case they're of use to anyone. I also have the saved sims if required. Ben Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

" said:And/or use 'set-down' times as appropriate to ensure the train moves off early. But it doesn't. It gives the code the option to move the train early if the random decision comes down heads. If it comes down tails, the train sits until due time - you can see that when you are desperately waiting for a train to leave Landor Street on the Saltley sim! Your only option then is to abandon the TT until the trains sets off, then reinstate the TT (which is a cheat on Saltley as the "real-life" wait may be due to the relief driver not yet available). “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 21/11/2012 at 19:31 by postal Log in to reply |
