Hi

Now that Llangollen has come out as a sim how about some more heritage lines as sims

I choose the following 2

1. Keighley Worth Valley - my local
2. North York Moors - regular visitor

The timetables could be a steam gala TT and a diesel gala TT

Dave

KWVR would be quite boring, given the signal box is only open when two trains are running, and all it does it pass them.

NYMR would certainly be an interesting call, as would the GCR and ELR

KWVR can be very exciting on a gala day. also there is a signal box on the end of platform 3 which may be operational soon, money depending

I did a rough sketch of the ELR using the Simsig font in Notepad a little while back. I'll see if I can dig it out at some point. But it's not finished, not to scale and I don't have any signalling information at all except what I've observed from the other side of the signals!

For NYMR, a normal timetable would probably be challenge enough. Would, however, be interesting to see if you could work New Bridge-Goathland at the same time as managing Grosmont on a Gala.

As promised: ELR sketch. It's not to scale and it's missing a few things (e.g. the through siding in Bury CS, level crossings at Rawtenstall West, Townsend Fold, Ramsbottom and Green Lane (Heywood)). The track layout at the south (left) end of Bolton Street is also not quite right but I haven't got round to doing it properly yet.

I imagine the Bluebell Railway would make a rather good sim, especially in another couple of years when East Grinstead is signalled rather than token-worked ground frames. Sheffield Park has carriage and loco sheds, Horsted Keynes has five platform faces, sidings and carriage sheds, and Kingscote controlling through to East Grinstead.

GCR would be interesting - although hopefully Simsiggers will avoid a "Run out of valid track" error from the Down Lay-by at Quorn & Woodhouse...

Of course, I'd be doing very badly if I didn't mention the SVR - so here's a layout for it!

Danny,

I was thinking about an SVR sim as well. Perhaps if we put our heads together and collect the data they will let us do it!

Peter.

After being inspired by the above, a very basic idea of what the NYMR would look like.

Please excuse my ignorance: how is it best to view the .txt files in this topic? When I open them they all currently just appear as strings of text!

Thanks
Ben

Depends on the gala TT. Shuttles between Pickering and Levisham or shunter shuttles between Pickering and New Bridge?
Would you also include the Esk Valley Line and the new platform 2 at Whitby, with its 3 GFs

Why not extend the Peterborough Sim with the NVR? And the GCR(N) and the GCR separately.

As a signaller for NVR I can tell you there are no regular services from Network Rail land to NVR. Our own services run into Peterborough NVR station just south of the river. What we do get in are all Z code services, usually visiting locos, though we did get an HST once on a private excursion - that was fun. If the branch is an entry point on the Sim then trains could enter/leave on the Sim as it is. For reality this would need a phone call to/from the NVR signaller at Orton Mere, and there is the potential for a delay message if the MOM is delayed reaching Fletton Junction.

The Swanage Railway is perhaps one of the busiest of our Heritage Railways, often running up to three trains between Swanage and Norden at peak times including dining trains, with some complex shunt moves at Swanage.
From 13 June four trains now run five days a week between Swanage and Wareham (NwR)- other trains come in from the main line - yesterday as Class 159, today a Class 66.
Combine the Swanage Railway (4 token sections) with the Dorset Coast Panel (under Basingstoke) and it might provide an interesting sim.

Only three?
