If anyone else has paid through the shop, but does not appear on the list in the Events section please post here asap so we can get a handle on the numbers.

It was a pleasure to see familiar faces again, and even if the pub wasn't as to standard as those of us at meets are accustomed to, it was enjoyable nonetheless.

My thanks to Postal and the other organisers for today.

Who said meets have to have new sims! I think today proved that a meet can be enjoyable despite what sims are in play.

That's a bit picky isn't it?

Particularly if you have only been accustomed to the York Brewery, the Railway Tavern at Liverpool Street, Henry Boon's at Wakefield and the Brunswick at Derby before yesterday.

I wasn't there yesterday, and I admit that it doesn't have the best choice of beer in a city which has lots of good real ale pubs; but I rather like the Stag and Hounds. In what way wasn't it up to standard?

Apologies to Postal, I didn't mean to be rude, I just needed to say something as we were both exhausted!

While the venue was lovely, it was quite challenging for Natalie and I, as we had to concentrate harder on getting around the venue owing to the uneven, dark staircases and uneven floor, It proved to be enough for Natalie to ask me to never take her there again, as she was so tired on the bus home she fell asleep pretty much as the bus left Swindon, and didn't wake up until we were about 10 minutes from Oxford City Cemtre.

Now I'm not saying it's anybody's fault, it just happened to be one of those places that didn't suit us.

I have to admit, most pubs I like would probably fit that description!

Well I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was good to meet people and put names to faces.

The pub is one I have visited before so I knew exactly what to expect. The Thatchers cider was as good as ever. I appreciate the comments about the uneven floors though - slightly disconcerting when the floor is not level with the door.

Kindest regards

John

Perhaps it's to make you think the beer is stronger than you thought?

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.
