Just a quick note to say that a new simulation has been added to the 'Blockpost Software' range. This is a simulation of Yapton, a little box on the Portsmouth - Brighton main line just east of Barnham. It didn't have many levers but the traffic is quite busy and it has the added complication of a level crossing. So even this little box will keep you on your toes! You will find the demonstration version at: www.blockpostsoftware.co.uk Peter Jordan Log in to reply |

I don't seem to be able to click on the bells. When I move the mouse over them I still get the four pointed arrow cursor and the hand does not appear.

" said:Click on little black toggle? just below actual bell Not in this sim, there are no bell tappers. I have just realized that there are actually plungers on the block shelf for the bells which I originally thought were platform bells before I zoomed in. Aha! You all got caught out by Southern Railway practice! They didn't use tapper bells but always brass plungers on the front of the block shelf. And don't forget that when searching for detail you should be able to zoom in on the screen display. You will then see the plungers with their white enamel rings telling you which boxes are adjacent. Did the Southern usually send TOOS without calling attention first? I know the GWR did but wasn't sure about the Southern.

Sorry, but I'm not sure either. I think they probably did give 'Call Attention' before sending 'Train Out of Section' as people seem to regard the GWR practice as unusual. Of course, you can soon find out by seeing which version the simulation is happy with. I promise that the DI won't be listening! Peter Jordan Log in to reply |

Box A:1 Box B:1 Box A:2-1 (A pegs to normal) Box B:3-1 Box A:3-1 (A pegs to LC) "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

The reason I asked is that Barnham and Ford send TOOS in the sim without calling attention first and I was quite surprised as I thought only the GWR did this. Unlike the GWR though, an acknowledgement is expected. I've also had TOOS play as 3 instead of 2-1. They will keep sending 2-1 if you don't send anything back though. Last edited: 22/02/2013 at 14:15 by Zoe Log in to reply |

" said:" said:its a while since i tried barnham, so youre probably right, 2-1 needs ackowledgement, but call attention is not used (same as the GW). infact youve answered your own question with your response? have you flicked through the manual for the simulation at all, local instructions, and block regs are included in it.Of course, you can soon find out by seeing which version the simulation is happy with. I don't see anything saying if call attention should be used or not when sending TOOS. I wasn't sure if it was Southern policy in general or if there was some special reason for it in this sim. Before anyone reads this the wrong way, it is solely a question, not a criticism. Is the plan to have a Blockpost Software Forum in due course so that topics like this can be discussed in their own environment rather than taking advantage of Geoff's hospitality?

While we're happy to allow announcements of Blockpost's sims, this isn't their technical support forum! (I've removed such posts)
