Euston 2003 Summer TT's Train List is displaying an incorrect platform location for 5M16 waiting at platform 16. (see attached file)

Hard to tell, any chance you can save it as a PNG and upload it without it being resized?

Interesting. I couldn't pull off for it. I removed TT; still no-go. I removed the train and the track-circuits went out and the signal come-off. Ba-humbug, 5M16 has gone from the train-list!

if you cant get a route to prove, removing the TT of the train will make no difference anyway. the interlocking only cares if something is there or not, not what it wants to do (ARS exempted).

Use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer to display the picture. It can size it to your liking.

Doesn't make a low resolution image any more readable.

I don't run Windows XP any more (364 days till it finally dies), or even Windows on some of my machines.

It's also the JPEG artifacting that causes the problems.

This is a bigger screen-print of the error. Train-list says 5M16 is in platform 17 and yet the TD is in platform 16.

pedantic note No2 from me in this thread. it doesnt matter where the TD is, only where the physical train is. the TD can be interposed wherever, but the train will always be where it is. but agreed, it is a confusing situation.

Do you have a saved game I can investigate?

It's waiting for authority to move. When the loco coupled on the rear was beyond the starter signal. When that becomes the front, the driver finds points between her and the next signal (16). So she phones for authority to move up to the signal.

This is an interesting one. There's no useful evidence in the saved game.

Platform numbers are set when the train issues a location report (even if it's not displayed). When two trains couple (e.g. 1M16 and 0M16) then the last location of one or the other is used for the joined train; it's not predictable which. When a train changes ID its location is unchanged.

My *guess* is that you brought something from platform 17 into platform 16 and it didn't move far enough to trigger a new location report. I've tried to reproduce this but failed. I have checked the code and data and it is *not* a case of the platform numbers being wrong.

If you had a save from just before 1M16 and 0M16 joined, that would be useful. You'd need to watch F2 and see the locations of the bits and see what happens.

Clive, I checked back on the my snapshots to send you and found the reason for the anomaly. 1M16 was tabled to platform 1 but due to a bad TCF blocking platforms 1 to 8, I sent it to platform 17 only to find out that platform 17 was not long enough for it. As it required an engine change, I then shunted it out to platform 16 not using the timetable.

Thanks again for a most enjoyable sim.
