I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but to my eyes Ireland presents a number of locations which could make interesting sims. Dublin with it's intensive suburban 'DART' services mixing with long-distance express services would make for an interesting sim, whereas with Northern Ireland it could quite easily be possible to compress an entire nation's rail network into one sim. If that was considered unfeasible, the Belfast area could make an interesting sim in it's own right. Jack Log in to reply |

If I remember correctly, CTC (Cenralized Traffic Control) looks similar enough to the UK panels. Of course, the Dublin area (Connolly side) would be busy with DART's, but Heuston would be interesting enough. Hourly Cork line services, others as well. I reckon there's about 65 departures a day out of Heuston, minus ECS workings to/from Inchicore. Having the route strech to say Thurles, that would include the 'branch' at Portarlington, run-around movements at Kildare for freight and Laois Traincare Depot. Agreed - Ireland would be a very interesting SimSig Log in to reply |
