To all users of SimSig,
(and that does include those that haven't registered as Members yet!) :: and why not?

Please consider the fact that the SimSig simulation creators and timetable developers have spent a huge amount of time preparing and maintaining them for your enjoyment.

You have the benefit of owning and using them for free and many of you spend hours playing with them, either individually or in multi-player games.

If you haven't contributed yet, can I please request that you look at Donations, on the Main Menu, to see how you can help continue the development and support of SimSig.

Please rest assured that all of the monies go to the developers and/or the maintenance of this site - all of which is for your benefit.

Have a happy time of the year... ^o

Thanks - on behalf of the whole team.

Considering making a donation myself, am I allowed to / able to make a seperate donation solely towards the Website and then another seperate donation towards either a specific sim or even to be split up equally between a selection of sims of my choice?

Thanks.

Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for.

UKTrainMan,

yes, yes and yes please!

Just follow the instructions in the Donations link on the Main Menu alongside and specify Website for one donation and then however many simulations you like in the other donation.

Geoff will deal with the allocations of the money to the website expenses fund and to all of the various developers involved in your specified request.

Many thanks in advance,
and may many more follow your example, every little helps...... ^o

Prefererably a single donation with you telling me how you want it split - that way, PayPal doesn't charge twice. Thanks.

I'm sure he did bossman, but everyone is quite busy at the moment getting things done behind the scenes, with new and exciting simulations for us all to enjoy in 2010 ! :|

Obviously the more donations to help with travel costs and research etc. (NO Chrisrail, NOT your kind of liquid research!), the more goodies will come sooner for everyone! :P

Only 14 days to Christmas, so come on - let's all donate a little or a lot (especially those that haven't donated yet) to give YOUR SimSig simulations a big boost for the coming year.. :D

Best regards, from all of the SimSig development team and testers. ^o

Is there any way to set up something like a Direct Debit or Standing Order to pay a small amount each month - I think a lot of the users wouldn't miss something like the price of a pint per month, but it would help the SimSig finances if a few people were to do it?

At the risk of doing a Jeremy Clarkson; if the sort code and account number are made available you just tell your bank what they are and how much you want to pay and when. It maybe possible to pay the pay-pal account that way too.

The purpose of my post was to see if Geoff had any details he would be willing to make available either by PM or on this forum for people who would like set up some sort of regular payment. Even without the Jeremy Clarkson intervention, I was presuming that any public announcement of this sort of information would have to involve an account set up purely for the purpose of receiving money and from which credit balances are immediately transferred to the normal account Geoff uses for SimSig purposes.

I thought that would be better, good idea, ;)

Also, although I mainly play Kings Cross SimSig, I have played Bristol, Swindon/Didcot and Peterborough so really do appreciate the work that goes into producing such great titles.

So that being said and seeing as what could easily be sold at £20+ but is actually free, I've decided to dip in my pockets and make a donation.

The SimSigs I'm most looking forward to seeing apart from Birmingham New Street for something different, is Three Bridges.

Geoff, could you be kind enough to let me know when you get it please?

Perhaps stating the obvious but if you are going to send cash in the post then I suggest folding a suitable amount of paper around the note(s) so that it cannot be seen through the envelope and don't send any coins. You can of course write on the paper where you'd like your donations to go to (i.e: the website, or a particular sim).

Then again, you could always purchase a Postal Order from your local Post Office for which the information is available here although charges do apply - which are;

£0.50p charge for any amount between £0 and £4.99
£1.00p charge for any amount between £5 and £9.99
10% charge for any amount between £10.00 and £250 with the fee capped at £10.00 (£15 donation incurs a £1.50 charge, £30 donation incurs a £3.00 charge and so on.)

I'm not sure what the payee name would need to be however I would presume that "SimSig Ltd" would be fine .... but of course a reply from Geoff himself would be appreciated.

Cash in the post is never a good idea, but cheques or POs payable to SimSig Ltd is ideal. PayPal is the easiest way though I understand some people would prefer not to use it. Thanks for any donations once again.

I've had revoked (by my parents) full access to my bank accounts (thanks to my hash up of last year) so once I have access to them again I'll be sending a donation.

To all users of SimSig,

Now that the festivities are over (and you've got nothing else to spend your money on), I will repeat my first post!

A gentle reminder to our newer friends and 'older' acquaintances, (and that does include those that haven't registered as Members yet!)

Please rest assured that all of the monies go to the developers and/or the maintenance of this site - all of which is for your benefit, both now and with new and exciting improvements in the 'near' future. (Before anyone asks - SimSig near!)

We look forward to seeing as many as possible at the various meets around the country or just enjoying the sims or multi-player involvement.

Have a happy time in 2010 ... and thanks - on behalf of the whole team.

I'll have a look and see if i can add them this evening. Otherwise it will need Geoff's input but he is currently indisposed and I'm not sure when he will be back on-line.

I guess Geoff didn't add Brighton and Oxted to the donations list as they are Beta releases, I'll see if I can set up a general or beta receptacle.
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Have added an Oxted one and now I know how to do it I'll add Brighton. A general Beta one will not tell Geoff how to account for the donations. What I've not been able to do is get it filed in the correct folder (will not save).

Done. Beta one changed to general donation for site upkeep etc. If I can get them into the right folders I will later.
