It looks like all Met line trains to/from Uxbridge are missing the stop at West Harrow.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

The timetable reflects the Working Timetable for the period concerned. The working timetable does not show stops at West Harrow or Croxley

If we're both looking at the same WTT, as far as I've gathered it's standard practice for LUL WTTs to leave out some of the intermediate stations, with the timings for them derived from the off-peak running times overview at the beginning. Otherwise, by the same logic Uxbridge trains wouldn't stop at either of Eastcote, Ruislip Manor or Ickenham, which I think is rather unlikely.

certainly correct as far as bakerloo WTTs are concerned. WTT timing points are queens park, willesden jcn, stonebridge park, wembley central and H&W only. there is usually a page at the beginning which gives point to point times between stations to derive a trains full timing schedule, and this would be used for creating a WTT in SimSig.

edit: just used TfL journey planner and this shows a frequent stopping service at croxley

Yes, only time you'd pass Croxley is on a railtour or special (with exception to any booked to call there of course). I had the same when writing the timetable for the District Line, according to the WTT the District/Circle is pretty fast on the South Bank, but actually it's not. I didn't even use the journey planner, I just calculated what is more likely to be the times at that station, and then gave a train a test to see if it would run to time.

Is there technically a time for unlisted stations? Does it work like buses where drivers have to adjust where they are between timing points, bus stops in between are un-timed and you leave basically when ready. Just wondered if some stations are like that?

yes. taking my example above, if it is listed as being 2 mins from stonebridge park to harlesden, then if the WTT indicates a departure from stonebridge park at 10:05, it should depart harlesden at 10:07. the WTT simply doesnt indicate clearly many of the intermediate stations as a rail WTT does.

Yes, trains are booked to stop at Croxley, however, as it wasn't in the WTT and the running time is not mentioned. As I only picked up on tis after I'd created the base timetable and it is such a huge undertaking to put them all in, I have left it and will update the timetable when I have a bit more time on my hands. I didn't want to hold the release up for such a trivial issue.

I have an idea LT drivers go when ready and signalmen/regulators are required to hold them to time as necessary; regulators may additionally allow early departures or hold beyond booked time, signalmen may only do so if requested by Control (or other authority?)

That's what I understood anyway. Of course it may have changed since as well.

Could it be that what's needed at places like West Harrow is departure time of 00:00 but a set dwell time? Or have I totally misunderstood how timetables work? (Perhaps, if I am right, dwell times should increase slightly in the peaks to simulate larger numbers boarding/alighting.)

Just to stick my bit in (as a Line Controller for the section shown in the sim)

The stations on the section Harrow to Moor Park/Rickmansworth to Amersham and Chesham have individual timings in the Working Timetable (WTT). On the Uxbridge Branch the only stations shown are Rayners Lane, Ruislip and Hillingdon . Croxley is also not shown.

The published run time between Rayners Lane and West Harrow is 2½ minutes in each direction. Croxley to Watford is 3½ minutes, whilst in the southbound direction it is 3 minutes. Any station without an individual entry in the main timetable has its booked run time from the stations either side of it shown at the front of the WTT.

The Metropolitan Line is unique on LU in that it is the last remaining line to run a "published timetabled service." By this I mean that our customers on the Watford/Amersham/Chesham routes are informed of the actual timings of each train rather than the tube-lines standard "Train every 3-5 minutes." Given this unique-ness, most Met Train Operators carry a copy of the WTT to ensure they do not run early (unless requested).

On the Uxbridge branch and in city areas (not shown) trains are more or less driven by "departure once the signal clears." Signallers in this area need to ensure the signal is not cleared more than half a minute before the booked (or required) departure time.

Interesting - when I went on a visit to the 3 Signal Cabins included in the simulation I did note that at Rickmansworth and Amersham that the route was only set just before departure to try and minimise early departures.

Comment was made that some of the locals knew the timetable by heart and would be straight on the phone to Head Office if they missed a train which had departed 1-2 minutes early.

Yes, as well as the unique features I mentioned, we also have a very "united" force of customers and more than one Customer Focus Group - who between them have successfully managed to get through Chesham services and slower, all-stations services (favoured only by the focus group who campaigned for them . )

Normal doesn't have the LUL so this option should be set to simple in the start up menu

Banbury N SB 5U92/5U75.

These 2 trains are timed to so that 5U92 is reversing from 01:16 - 01d28 and 5U75 from 01:20 - 01d25. If ARS runs things exactly to TT, 5U92 needs a stopping position of NX@60 and 5U75 needs PS 2U92 otherwise 5U75 lies across the points and things are gridlocked.

5U75 then needs PS 5L07 at Banbury NB

Yes, and no.

Checking F4 Timetable List » Train Types, none of the two S8 entries have diesel ticked. Picking a random LU train, and it does show "4DC Diesel" on F2 Train List

4O49 has incorrect passing times for Heyford and Wolvercot Jn, and two of the Uxbridge semi-fasts (U431-5, U456-7) show only the departure time in their description.

Not necessarily. 2G11 departs West Ruislip at 07:47, while 0V60 passes through at 07:50.

I know this is a minor issue on an old timetable, but its the official timetable included with the sim so I thought I'd mention it. 1I50 seems to have the wrong description. It looks like it has the description for 5H50 which it becomes when it reaches Wembley Stadium.
