I’m getting confused now. 6C26 phones in and tells me it wants to start moving, then occupies two TCs (the siding between CE129 and CE133 shunt signals, plus the points just down of CE133). Then it sits there for a while claiming to be “Stopped at Shap Quarry”. A while later it calls and asks for authority to move, while pointing Down. If I grant authority, it just rolls back into Shap Quarry and vanishes—of course, I can’t throw the points to send it onto the mainline because it’s occupying the relevant TC. So, instead, I decided to try sending it into the neck (by stepping its timetable and reversing it), letting it stop in there, reversing it, and bringing it back through the siding onto the mainline. Only, when it got into the neck, it vanished again! I thought trains didn’t disappear when they went into sidings that ended with grey bars, only those that ended with nothing. OK, I can do this by sending it into the neck, reversing it while it’s still moving, and then routing it out from CE133 onto the mainline, but that seems a bit excessively complicated. It doesn’t even seem like this is a length issue; if I shorten the train to 240 metres (which should fit well within the 256-metre siding), it decides to stop right on top of the points, but not even in the siding!

The train needs to move towards the neck (that's why the driver is ringing). Sig CE129 needs to be clear and the train will move behind sig CE133 and reverse. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Last edited: 05/07/2013 at 00:41 by BarryM Reason: amended Log in to reply |

I don’t think that’s it. The driver doesn’t say he’s standing at a signal, he says he‘s awaiting movement authority (i.e. where you can just authorize movement directly from the telephone, without telling the driver to pass a signal). The train is pointing down when this happens (i.e. back towards Shap Quarry), and authorizing the movement results in the train disappearing into Shap Quarry, not into the neck. Edit: or do you mean that if CE129 is clear before the train comes out of Shap Quarry in the first place, then the driver will drive partly into the neck, just far enough to be clear of the points, and then reverse behind CE133? If that’s the case, why isn’t the train Waiting at CE129 if one fails to do that? Last edited: 05/07/2013 at 00:44 by Hawk777 Log in to reply |

Definitely not right that 6C26 SPADed CE134 - added to bug board. (#9086) Have also raised question alongside the bug regards to things related to 6C26's timetable - suspect it should be stopping behind ('aspects side'of CE133. Furthermore, second bug added regards to trains dropping off the simulation at Shap Summit Neck. The 2008 timetable was only a temporary stopgap as it has been superceded by Noel's 2009 WTT. There won't be any more work done on that. As for the SPAD I'm having trouble recreating on the up to date version that is being prepared for release.

Oh, I see, I didn’t know the 2008 timetable was not intended for use any more! The sim manual wiki page claims the timetable is “No longer available for download”, yet somehow I have it, despite having the most recent version of the sim (3.238.1.0), and I’ve never reinstalled the sim; I can only assume that the timetable is still bundled. I guess I should expect bugs and probably not play that timetable any more after my current run
