I have downloaded NEScot according to the manual and it appears to download etc OK. When I initiate the programme from the screen icon NEScot, Dundee's Network appears on the screen with a picture insert on which only exit is live - no other button on the screen is operating. I have tried the initialising and erasing 3 times without any luck. My computer program listing under SimSig is: NE Scotland Splash screens, NE Scotland, SimSig licence manager(Showing licence for NE Scot) and SimSig loader. Please advise Log in to reply |

Across the bottom of the pop-up which only has the Exit button live (presumably the other 3 buttons are greyed out) is there any message to say that you have no licence or the sim has expired? If that is the case, have you opened the Licence Manager and allocated the licence for NEScot to your machine (because it is showing that indicates that there is a licence for NEScot waiting for you, but it needs to be allocated before things work)? If all of that is in hand, report back and we'll try again. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 05/07/2013 at 20:25 by postal Log in to reply |

" said:Thankyou for your reply. There is no writing o the picture and I have allocated the licence to my machineNext thing to try (based on the link to which Peter refers): Go to your Public Documents or Shared Documents folder (name depends on which variety of Windows you are using) and create a SimSig folder. If the folder is not visible when you open Windows Explorer it can also be found as \Documents & Settings\All Users\Documents. Then run Licence Manager again and the common.cfg file should be created. After that, try NEScot again to see what happens. If access to the folder is denied, you need to read through this thread where there is a fix which worked for Dave Harries. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 05/07/2013 at 20:42 by postal Log in to reply |

I have finally got it thanks to your advice. The problem was obviously my lack of knowledge of my own machine. I was creating SimSig in documents not realising I was created it in the private area. When I finally found the public area and created SimSig there Config appeared and the simulation could be started. Thanks to all.
