Hi All, Just wanted to introduce myself - my name is Toby and whilst I have an interest in trains and signalling, I'm actually a pilot by profession (don't hold that against me ). I've been using SimSig for a year or so now, mainly on the KGX Simulation. I feel confident with the simulation, however I am yet to join into a multiplayer game, primarily because I'm scared of messing up... I have read on the forums that most hosts won't mind me joining just to watch in initially, so I hope to do that and eventually ask to join in on a simple panel. Hope to see you around, Toby Log in to reply |

Hello Toby. I say don't stand on the sideline. Explain if you are new to a layout and ask for a panel and for someone to assist you. A good host will make that happen.

I'm scared of messing up...Working around problems together, be it an accidental misrouting (which we've all done), or a points / track failure / train unhappy, is what makes multiplayer so much fun. Pull up your socks and join a game! Just say "Hi!" and let people know you're a beginner if you feel the panel you get is too busy. Log in to reply |

I make regular mistakes on MP games, and I'm still welcome! More seriously though, you say you mainly play KX - if you can get anywhere close to running that smoothly in single player mode, you'll be absolutely fine on MP. Just join a game and get stuck in, you're definitely welcome on any of my sessions. Username TIM in multiplayer Log in to reply |

Hi Toby By all means join a multiplayer as a spectator. All hosts will not mind you watching and if you want a go please don't be scared of screwing things up - no host will mind this espesialy if you are a novice. On the other hand if you do screw up it makes it more realistic to sort a mess out. If you are joining a game please to not be afraid to ask for help/suggestions by either the message box or teamspeak as all hosts and players will be willing to help. Just remember we were all in your position at first. Chris Log in to reply The following user said thank you: CTCThiago |

REMEMBER its only a game I can assure you it's not unknown for players to mess up on that big Simsig called Network Rail (and its sundry predecessors for that matter). At least Simsig drivers don't accept wrong routes and run themselves off the juice... Log in to reply The following user said thank you: larsht |
