Just started the new Swindid sim and notice that the train headcodes shown on the diagram are black letters/numerals on a grey background which makes them blend into the grey track. Is this just on my computer or is it a bug? I have started the new Exeter and that has the normal blue letters/ numerals for the trains. DavidR Log in to reply |

This simulation features ARS - see http://www.SimSig.co.uk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=usertrack:ars - and as such headcodes (Train Descriptions) are colour-coded as appropriate. However, if you open F3 Options and go to the the Display tab you could use the drop-down-box there to change the Train describer mode to ARS state which'll either give you Blue or Pink/Magenta coloured headcodes depending on if each individual train is running under ARS or not at the time.

Thanks, I just read the new ARS info in the Wiki which gives the new colours and their meaning when ARS is used. DavidR Log in to reply |

Peter, That surprises me as before all Train headcodes in ARS sims ( to my recollection ), on my computer , have been purple when travelling on the various SimSig layouts whether early ,on time , or late - it is only with the updated sims that I have found the different colours for ARS. " said:Peter,Generically purple headcodes (or Magenta as it technically know by Windows) is for trains in ARS sims that are not running under ARS. For trains running under ARS, they are typically Cyan (or a lightish blue colour). Log in to reply |

It is the non-ARS sims that are technically wrong. Certainly on the WestCad workstations I have seen, which are not equipped with ARS, all of the headcodes are magenta. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: BarryM |
