Currently playing the 1985 TT bundled with the new loader version of KX (in old era, easy mode). Have a problem with the joining of 5F001 and 5R501 in Letchworth Rev Sdg. Train is overhanging the points between the Rev Sdg and CS which is blocking the entry of 5J77.

This was not an issue on the previous version of the sim. Both trains (5F00 / 5R50) have length 81m.

NOTE - I did have to abandon and then reassign the TT for 5R50 in order to get it out of the CS into P2. Subsequent join went ahead OK so either the 5F00 and 5R50 are too long or the Rev Sdg has shrunk.

I definitely believe there is an issue with the length of Letchworth Rev Sdg in the new loader version of KX.

Am now playing the 2009 TT in old era, easy mode and have 5F26 and 5J24 joining trains in the Rev Sdg. Both trains are 61m in length (ie shorter than those in my previous post) but 5F26 is fouling the points between the Rev Sdg and the CS. Also, I've not had to mess about with any individual train's TT to get them to the correct location so this can't be the issue.

An update further to my reports about joining trains in Letchworth Rev Sdg being foul of the points...

Currently playing the 2009TT in old era / easy mode and have just had 5F54 (6 car class 313) divide into two portions forming 5J56 and 5D80 which do NOT result in fouling of the points.

Interesting that joining trains foul the points whilst divding trains do not !! This suggests that the length of the Rev Sdg is ok. Perhaps joining trains are stopping short of the blocks for some reason that was not happening in the old version of the sim?

Are the trains the right length?

Try running the first part in with Far end exact stopping point. If both parts then fit, it proves the point.
(It might be that the default stopping position is now 'near end reversals' rather than 'far end'.)

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

I guess so as I didn't have these issues when running the 2009 TT on the pre-loader version of KX.

Yes that sounds like a sensible suggestion given my recent observations. Will try that next time I run through the TT (unfortunately I don't have a save I can use).

Stopping point calculations take into account timetabled joins, including some complex code to work out which end the join is happening at. That should override the default stopping position anyway.

It is possible that the siding was longer in the former version than the current?

If Geoff had received new information as to its length he may have amended it.

That was my first thought. Surely if that were the case though then BOTH the joins AND the divides should overhang ?

Maybe this one join is not scheduled to happen where it is supposed to? If this one timetable entry is wrong it explains why only one pair of trains have the problem.

Further to the issues I have encountered with regards joining trains in Letchworth Rev Sdg I have just noticed that in the 2013 4-day TT (using modern era, easy mode) 2F23-1 and 2F27-1 join WITHOUT overhanging the points.

Yes, during initial testing of the TT these trains did overhang, but I ammended 5F23-1 to stop 'far end' and this has sorted the problem. I would strongly suggest that ammending the stopping position of the 1985TT trains that overhang to 'far end' would sort it.

Yes, AndyG had suggested this but as yet I've not had a chance to run through the 1985 TT again. Hence I was intrigued that it didn't seem to be an issue in the 2013 TT.

Your solution would seem to be at odds with Clive's post earlier in this thread.

Train 5R011 from letchworth cs to platform 2 (xx4 sim, default tt 1985), message wrong direction. On previous normal version was accepted well.
For my reason is bug from sim or default timetable over that mentioned detail. Proved to quit it number platform, and received error message, proved to send it to pl 1 and same error message.
Unique form to to fix this for my reason, is dissable timetable for that train and give it route to platform 2, when shall be stopped there, enable it its timetable then shall be accepted without error train stopped on platform 2. Is thare other possible form to fix the problem friends?...

Your Spanish friend, Carlos

Friends, found form to fix problem with train 5R011 from lechworth CS to platform 2. Timetable that train puts to run it to platform 2, but simulation doesn't accept it. The last normal king cross version, if accepted send it to platform 2. Today proved to send it to platform 1 and was accepted correctly.
..........
New rare detail found. Train 5F13 runs from hitchin slow line to letchworth cs and doesn't start to run automatically.
Is necessary to make it manually. But rarely is than being stopped on Hitchin slow line when I select to run to lechworth 2, changes its ID to 2F13, as if should be stopped on letchworth really.

Other question. King Cross 4 has on start options select/unselect Seed trains option. What thing is that or than use has that option?
And after on internal details of each train has Seed option too. Please put detail on easy words the answer. Than I don't understand well technical English words. Thanks.

Seed trains are created in the middle of the area. They are used at the start of a timetable to create trains that are halfway through the area at midnight, instead of using the normal entry points. You should always select to seed trains at the start of the simulation.
