I've looked through the various West Hampstead threads, but I don't think I can find any mention of this little "problem".

When trains are leaving St. Pancras International platform 1, the berth immediately after the platform berth (the one next to signal 17) steps up to "****" instead of the train's headcode, with the actual headcode remaining behind in the platform buffer berth.

Trains reversing at 533 signal at Cricklewood for the Reception line also do this, with the "***" appearing in the Reception line berth.

Is this a known bug? If so, just ignore me ... B)

You need to interpose the outgoing train's description at the signal end, not the buffer end. It's described here as the "first method". There is rarely a step in real life from the rear (buffer end) berth to the front (signal end) berth in such situations, though Marylebone is unusual in having them IRL.

Ah, so it IS a known bug - in my train describing.

I've been playing Simsig long enough to have known that.

OK, here's another WH-related question then, but this time it's more a question of procedure than me doing anytihng wrong (I hope!)

It's 03.10 and 6D33 is waiting at Sharnbrook Junction on the Down Slow. It's booked to wait there until 03.18. I assume this is because 6L25 (entering on the Up Slow at 03.00) is booked to come off the single line before 6D33 enters it. As 6L25 is booked to pass Sharnbrook Junction at 03.16, I can only assume this is the case.

The only trouble is this slot business. The slot is automatically selected because 6D33 is waiting at signal 363, as per the instruction manual. Going to the TT via F4 reveals that 6L25 has "entered" the sim (it is greyed out, and only appears when I tick "Hide entered trains"), but it does not appear in the F2 list, and there is no indication on the layout that it has entered.

Am I right in thinking that 6L25 will not "appear" until the slot clears at Sharnbrook Junction? In other words, you've got a train waiting for another to enter, but the second one one won't enter because the first one is there, blocking its entry because of an automatic slot!

The only way I can see of getting 6L25 to appear is to send 6D33 down the Fast line, thus clearing the slot.

Update: I sent 6D33 onto the Fast line, and the slot cleared. But 6L25 still won't appear, so does this mean that it didn't actually run, despite the F4 TT list indicating otherwise?

Greyed out in the timetable list means that the train has either entered or the core code has decided that it's never going to be run.

So what is the reason for other trains which have also not entered (such as 5Z19, due to enter at 01.10) still showing in the list in normal type? Both that train and 6L25 have "Run 'as required' or as a special" ticked.
