( from a saved game load )
1d09 on the supplied TT calls in with difficulties at 0010 stating that its est ETD 0730 will not now be till estimated 0740.

At 0019 it calls back "now resolved difficulties and ready to depart" and TRTS's from P2 at St Pancras.

bug ?

slatteryc,

I have exactly the same problem with 1D09 which at 0245hrs has stated that the technical problems have been resolved and the train is now ready to depart ( 4 3/4hrs early ). the TRTS buzzer and lights occur and there is no way of cancelling the TRTS. This in effect makes the Sim unplayable at this point.

This is a bug - either with the sim or the core code and should be reported as such.

It's already being discussed here.
Although that thread is in the Marylebone subforum - as that is where I first encountered the problem - it applies to all loader sims.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

While it does sound like a bug, if the train is supposed to sit in the platform for seven hours, I don’t see how this makes the sim unplayable—just make a note of the actual proper departure time, ignore the TRTS, and if the driver calls in for a red signal, tell him to wait 15 minutes, 28 times.

While I accept that it sounds wrong, having a TRTS indicator flashing away merrily is not game over. I can't imagine signallers walking off the job just because the real life platform staff operated the wrong TRTS (again)!

To cancel an erroneous TRTS, do what signalmen do in real life, clear the signal which will cancel the TRTS, then return it to Danger, having first received an assurance from the station staff that there isn't a driver on the train in question. In Simsig, the worst that will happen is you lose a few marks for an adverse change of aspect.

The main problem was that I had just saved the game at the precise moment that 1D09 decided to TRTS.Every time that I reloaded , the game commenced with the TRTS with no phone options to tell the driver to wait until the correct departure time. All I could think of was to abandon the save and revert to the previous save which was at the Commencement of the game. Thanks for the input , I know what to do next time.

No coincidence there, it's actually a bug that is affecting how delayed trains, i.e. those that have phoned in, are handled after reloading a saved game.
