As far as I can see, a train goes into the RR loop, runs round, and then goes through the discharge siding. However, I can't find a TT location for the discharge siding itself, and the supplied TT doesn't give one either - can it be done at all, or is it just a case of putting it in the RR loop and having the return appear there some time later?

Looking what is available in the TT, using St.Pancras Tamac Siding to Dock Jn North (sig 403 at Discharge Siding) will validate and a train runs ok. Only problem is allowing the train to discharge its load as the Junction is not a stopping location.

You could use another movement with a shunt from Tamac Siding onto the down fast and reverse at sig 550.

Whilst it will take the route, it seems that the train never thinks it's arrived at Dock Jn North if it goes via 403 - I'm watching one merrily drive past Kentish Town, claiming it's still in the Tarmac Siding! I also can't see how to get a train to reverse at 550; any train reversing at Dock North Jn does so at 21.

I think there are two missing locations:
- Dock North Jn (Rev)/Dock North Jn WH550, to allow trains to pull past and then reverse at 550
- Tarmac Discharge Siding, to do the obvious! Signals 403/528 would be the obvious ones to link to that. You could try adding them as a separate Line for Dock Jns North/South, but that may be more (or less!) difficult.

Signal WH550 is a reversing point. It is listed in location as "Signal WH550". It could lead to some interesting shunting moves.

Whoops, I never looked there! In which case, it's just that a valid location for stopping at the discharge siding itself is required.

From memory and observation, the loaded train does indeed go into the RR loop. The outlet signal from there would then need to be cleared (towards the discharge siding) to allow the loco to complete its run round (not sure whether it'd go right behind the dolly in practice?), before taking the train into the discharge siding to unload (occupying the TC between the RR loop and discharge siding for most of the duration of the unloading process!), finally departing via 403. I don't think anything would normally drop behind 550 signal to reverse, unless something goes wrong of course!

I havnt worked at WHPSB for a couple of years now, but the trains used to be hauled into the reception/runround siding, and then propelled into the dishcharge siding. The Loco would then detach, run back into Recpetion/RR siding, then reverse and run round its train via the down fast, and then go back in onto the north end of its train standing in discharge siding.
Depending on who the groundstaff were would depend on whether the train discharged or RR first.
The departing train would normally depart from the north end of the discharge siding, only occasionally departing from the reception/RR sdg when it was required due to possessions on fast lines.
I appologise for not including signal numbers but I have forgotton what they are.

The issue with the location of not recognising Dock North, is actually prototypical, as the departing trains quite often are scheduled to depart from the reception/rr but do in fact depart from the discharge as I said, and therefore the system wont update its location until it passes Kentish Town. This used to cause us a bit of agro in the box with certain drivers (at weekends) as they would depart the discharge siding late in their booked path and miraculously be early passing Kentish Town, having not had to do the initial move from the reception/rr roads.
