Are the trains joining or dividing? ACI can't handle those.

I've had similar problems with the ACI too, it all seemed very random. Trains into booked platform and next working from same platform etc. I wrote the 4 day timetable and trains that worked on the 'friday' didnt on the 'monday', despite being duplicates! Seemed to occur at all locations too.

No I dont think so, I saw another post regarding ACI sporadically not working at Moorgate on the 1985 TT

From the few occasions it has happened to me, it appears to be related to Sim speed. I've only just started on the timetable (got to about 5.00am so far) so have been hitting the 'F' key during quiet periods. When the trains arrive at high speed, they seem not to interpose the new working but seem ok at normal speed. Not sure if it is just coincidence or relevant to the problem

It was me that mentioned an issue with ACI not always working in the 1985 TT when running the loader version of KX in old era, easy mode. I've not noticed it whilst running the 2009 TT but it has resurfaced when I recently started playing the 2013 TT in modern era, easy mode. This time it is trains at KX (rather than Moorgate) that haven't always had their new TD inserted. I'm playing the sim at normal speed so it wouldn't appear to be a sim speed issue. It also seems unrelated to whether the sim is being run in old or modern era. To some extent it does appear TT related as I've not noticed a problem with the 2009 TT. It's definitely not a case of trains dividing either - I've had IC225 sets arrive ECS at The Cross which have then failed to have their next working interposed. Log in to reply |

If somebody could list the timetable, the train IDs, and which platforms when this happens, that would be useful. Maybe an autosave just before, too.

Thanks. Were those the scheduled platforms or the actual platforms used?

To add to John's post, I've had two or three of the 5*** ECS IC225 sets arrive at KX in the early hours of Friday in the 4 day 2013 TT which also failed to have their next working inserted. Trains were in their booked platforms. Sorry I don't have full TD's for you as I didn't record them at the time. Will run through again making a full list as and when I have the time. Until then it is interesting to note that John doesn't report these services. Assuming he was running through the full TT right from the beginning then there would seem to be some randomness involved. Log in to reply |

The trains I posted were just the ones I observed whilst playing today. There were several more encountered since starting the timetable at midnight, but I failed to record them. Some of them might have been the ones you describe, but I can't be sure.

During KX 4 day TT, Had to manually insert 1D02-1 at Kings X (prev 3D02-2). Was in its booked platform (P4) and also 1N04-1 (prev 5N04-1) in its booked platform 8 Gareth Last edited: 06/12/2013 at 17:29 by TimTamToe Log in to reply |

The two TD's that TimTamToe mentions certainly ring a bell so it would seem that the problems aren't random after all.

Possibly a long shot (maybe 2):- Could it be related to trains that require, or have had, a (5+ char) TD manually interposed with only the first 4 characters, and the ACI not picking up properly on the TD? No more than a hunch, but might need to be eliminated from enquiries. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |
