Just come across a minor bug: I've accidentally sent 7R32 (for Dalston) towards Moorgate, but the driver accepted the route. Playing the 1985 TT.

It does happen in real life. I remember my father telling the story, in the days of the old Kings Cross box, of a wrong set of ecs appearing at Moorgate (Widened Lines) one evening peak. Extremely embarrassing - the train was too long to fit in the platform clear of the engine spur, the layout at Moorgate was very constrained and the signalling options rather limited. Also the signalling was under the control of London Transport, who were a lot more uptight than British Rail about calling locos past red signals. I don't know quite how they got out of it but I don't suppose it was a good peak... Apparently the old Kings X layout was quite vulnerable to that. The line to York Way platform and the Widened Lines was a facing connection off the up slow, which was the timetabled route for a number of trains booked into platform 1. Dad commented that he (and many others) were nervously anticipating the up Talisman ending up at Moorgate one day... Log in to reply The following users said thank you: ajax103, Steamer, BarryM |
