Hi all,

Pleased to say that, on Monday 27th January - the last day that RTT would have had the data available, I managed to finish correcting the remaining errors on my Whiteball Blockade TT for Monday 20th January.

Once I had got all the trains I knew of entered into the TT I had 363 trains including 87 ECS (5xxx) movements. I also had 130 warnings for mistakes in the TT arising from:

- trains not being paired to their following workings
- duplicate workings that had slipped in by mistake
- issues with train length
- headcode errors

I spent much of Sunday afternoon and evening, into the early hours (just after 2am when I gave up for the night after trying to work something out regarding a couple of evening trains at Taunton) of Monday morning reducing the 130 warnings down to 10 I dealt with the final 10 late afternoon / early evening on Monday and finally reached that magic point when the last warning disappeared and nothing took its place!

Once all that had been done I finally ended up with a timetable of 381 trains, including 90 ECS movements. I will get someone to look the finished result over, then I will run a trial host with a midnight start before releasing it with the midnight start and an 0400 start. Having hoped to finish the work a couple of weeks before now (I had planned to release the TT on Monday 20th January itself) I am glad to have finally got things done and dusted and I look forward to getting this TT released soon.

Dave

Good news!

Can't wait to try it!

Did you get my PM by the way? Sent you a couple of more timings of Fairwater trips I was unsure if you were aware of them or the headcodes

Thank you for your offers to look over & test the TT.

Having had 5 offers on that front I think that later this evening (or sometime tomorrow) I will put your usernames onto separate bits of paper, juggle them about and draw 2 bits. Those whose names are drawn will be PM'd requesting email addresses so that I can send the files for the TT.

Dave

Edit: names were picked earlier and those successful were Tin (flyingpigs123456) and Temple Meads.

Hi Dave

Thanks for doing this timetable. I actually drove to Castle Cary on Saturday to take the trip to Exeter via both Yeovil Stations, and was thinking it would be great to have a simulation of this, so imagine my surprise when I got home and checked the latest files..

I have got as far as 0811 and am a bit stuck. Firstly I have a late HST (1A76) blocking things; in actual fact this happened on Saturday; one of the up HSTs was 50 mins late and cancelled at EXD, presumably because it was impossible to fit in. So I will do likewise and send him somewhere out of the way.

My other problem is what to do with 5E05 (the ECS formed from 2J89, Barnstaple to St James Park). The timetable says St James Park (p2), Exmouth junction, St James Park (p1) so I thought I had to wait until 1L03 and 2B72 were out of the way, then send him towards Polsole Bridge, and let him reverse there. But no, all he wanted to do was sit at Exmouth Junction until booked 0826, then I suspect go back into P2 again. Which he can't, because 2F09 is approaching.

Any idea what I've done wrong here ? Or do I need to abandon the timetable and manually send him forward and backward until he's back at St James Park, and resume from there?

Alan

Alan - I believe the TT you are playing is by a different author - 'shaun (thecabbagedetective) - I know for a fact I haven't finished testing Dave's yet!

Hi Alan,

Just to confirm that the Exeter Whiteball TT you refer to is not mine. Mine is still in the testing stages and no version of it has been released yet. Hopefully won't be long in coming.

Out of interest, where did the posession start? 43 on the UM and 26 on the down?

Stop boards were in place last week at Cowley Bridge Jn, at signals 54/660. Normal running to/from Crediton.

Also some SWT trains were being turned short at Exeter Central due to delays from the extra workings on the WoE line (including mine, 1L68 1745 off ESD on Friday).

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Likewise at Taunton, at the down ends of P2 and 3.

Oops, yes, sorry; I've checked back into the repository and it is indeed the one from thecabbagedetective but the date simulated is the same (20 Jan)

Sorry Dave, I was confused as the other one was the same simulated date, I made the classic mistake of Assuming!

The next timetable would be to simulate this week. With no trains to Newton Abbot now from Exeter either!

Lets add Cowley bridge Jn to that as well, so nothing to Barnstaple (Not flooded yet as far as I know, but given it's track record (no puns or anything intended), it can't be that far off.

Many Thanks for that list. I have corrected most of these so far already, but there are a few that I missed. I will upload an updated version soon.

The two versions up there are exactly the same. When uploading I wasn't sure if it worked correctly first time so I tried it again, and then both appeared!
