My partner at Central seems unable to set a route, I waited until the train 1Q73 approached signal 532 and then set the signal from the XB4 arrow. This filled in the slot for the 532 signal request, however, after some patience a route from VC532 never came and my only recourse was to key the points and SPAD the train. The slot will not release now, picture and save attached.

The route set in rear (from VC538) is locking the points ahead of the train preventing it from setting. As a temporary fix Right click the signal and select cancel route, this will allow the route from 532 to be set. A ticket has been raised with the relevant parties

I believed that to be the case, however I cancelled VC538 after grabbing the screenshot and no route was set. I reloaded the save attached above and performed the following steps: All ARS except those Victoria and Grosvenor were left on. 1Q73 was routed by ARS to the reversible siding. VICCTRL ARS deactivated due to a route cancel (I hadn't cancelled a route). VICCTRL reset. As 1Q73 passed VC538 I cancelled the route and reset the ARS again. After receiving a message the 1Q73 was at a stand, set route from the XB4 button. Victoria Central hasn't taken any action in three minutes. I've also tried cancelling VC538 after the train is standing and leaving the ARS on completely. Neither led to any action, however, upon waiting for ARS to set the route from the slot the signaller at Central called wondering when I was going to set the route, after doing so manually (and cancelling VC538). VC did not call after having waited 20 minutes for a route but they did not call suggesting they are aware the route is available. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

I had the same problem with 1Q73. Once I had received the request for 532 I set the route from XB4 arrow into the platform, but the train remained at VC532 signal and the first part of the route (VC532 to XB4) did not set. After a few minutes I decided to cancel the route from XB4 as the train wasn't moving, the first part of the route then set and once the second part was set again the train ran into the platform.

I've just encountered this issue, when playing with ARS completely disabled. I thought I remembered a thread on the topic a few months ago - and here it is! In my situation, what I found was that if I cancelled the route from XB4, immediately afterwards, VC set the route up to XB4. If I then re-set my half of the route, the signal cleared. However the "From 532" roundel still remains lit - I will have to wait and see if that causes problems later. I note the manual says that setting an advance half-route from XB4 will lock some of VC's points. Is this preventing VC from calling the rear half-route? Log in to reply |

This is on my agenda to look at again. I'm sure it's fine if everything works perfectly :silly: but there must be some situations that aren't obviously recoverable. (I'm looking at VicC and VicE to add later and earlier eras respectively)

I was able to get the train into platform 5. I "back set" the route from platform 5 to the train and that forced the points to go over then I cancelled the signal and the ARS did the rest.
