I notice that Victoria Central's F3 menu contains four "simulation-specific" events.

What exactly ARE these, and are they of any use?

They're not specific to Victoria, any simulation developer can decide to use one of those event types if necessary.
If the wiki is to be believed, so far they've only been used on Edinburgh and NE Scotland.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Interesting. In that case, maybe they'd like to assign one of them to an Eastfields level crossing reminder at some point in the future? :whistle:

(Yes, yes, I KNOW it wouldn't be realistic ...)

Sounds can be allocated to LX clear (generically) already.

I know that, but that's not what I meant. I was talking about a reminder that a train is approaching the crossing, and that it needs lowering, as the current white flashing blob is easy to miss (as another person has already mentioned previously).

On Vic Central Sim1 is associated with the call-on available indication at Epsom Downs.
