Hello,

Anyone planning/thinking or already started a timetable for 06/02/2014?, if no, I'll try to do and help is welcome... Just checking to not get duplicated works.

Currently I'd say there just isn't enough trains running for it to be worth it; however if/once things calm down enough for the only closed stretch to be Dawlish, and an emergency timetable is released, then it would make a good TT.

To the contrary, this is a TT I'd personally like to see. It'd be interesting to have what is ultimately a completely different Exeter timetable with trains terminating at St. Davids and Newton Abbot and nothing in-between the former and the latter stations. Also, I can see this being a timetable that some might find slightly less busier (especially due to the lack of need to watch out for trains around Dawlish Warren (stoppers vs. non-stoppers)) and so as a result surely that bit easier to play through too.

There is not a lot moving South of Exeter. I do not think half of the Newton Abbot to Plymouth trains planned have actually run, certainly from what I have seen.

The only "interesting" thing that was going on is not easily replicated in SimSig anyway, which was the Paignton branch was being worked under Single Line Working using one of the lines only (cannot remember which one).

With all the flooding now happening at Bridgwater as well, I cannot see there being a lot happening at the Taunton end either, and there are rumours that the Honiton Line was shut earlier as well.

Probably the quietest Exeter Panel has been since it was commissioned.

The only incident that way has been the landslip at Crewkerne, so I imagine these are the same rumours.

I wasn't sure it was the same since it has been confirmed that the line is closed at Crekerne and not just rumours.

Landslide at Crewkerne, Tree on line between Yeovil and Exeter and a Lightning strike at Truro were the major events for today. Having been down in Dawlish today, mother nature showed no sign of stopping.

So just Barnstaple-Exeter SD-Exmouth left?

Did notice last week that all the location cabinets around Cowley Bridge area are in the process of being raised 4ft on steelwork to clear flood-water like last year.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Lightning strike at Truro is a little inventive on the part of National Rail Enquiries as most of the trouble was actually at Burngullow Junction, but that would still not cause much trouble in itself.

Problem now seems to be that there is a lot of small issues occuring which are taking staff away from the main problems that are occuring.

The locations being raised is a permanent solution at Cowley Bridge.

Going back to the original subject here, I don't see issue with doing a TT for this. Just because there aren't loads of trains in the area at any time, doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

I'm sure that there are worse timetables to do, and lets face it, Its not going to be the same every day routene

I agree. It might be a good timetable for people to try when they are just starting out on the larger simulations. I remember that somebody released a Christmas timetable for Kings Cross that only had a handful of trains on it and I found it to be a very useful timetable when I was stepping up from the likes of Cambridge and Exeter. Once I was used to the Christmas timetable, I then went on to busier ones such as the timetable included with the sim.
