After my woes at Cleghorn LC late last night, I restarted from midnight this evening. Seem to be having problems at Motherwell Weighs CS: Am running the whole thing under full ARS control as a solo first effort - only intervening to clear LCs and set manual routes. 5B22-S 2348 Lanark - Derby CS suddenly (at 0008) declared itself to be duplicated in the area - even though I'd not made a manual intervention. Followed immediately by weird "BA done train 5B22 - SFlag1" message. Pop up ARS message claimed route set to end of route - I don't think so... Saved at this point - screengrab attached - and let sim continue. 5B22 then disappeared - from memory leaving a route set that I manually had to clear. At 0019 I had a message that 5L22-S was routed off-route and made non-ARS. Again an ARS train that I'd not touched and again it just disappeared leaving route set up. Am fairly new to SimSig and obviously new to Motherwell Sim, but think there may be a problem in this area. Any thoughts? Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

" said: Followed immediately by weird "BA done train 5B22 - SFlag1" message.Looks like a debug message left in by accident - probably related to the hand point operation for Weighs CS. In any case, did you take a look at the manual? If you didn't, it should clear things up - at least a bit. " said: 5B22 then disappeared - from memory leaving a route set that I manually had to clear.See the linked bit in the manual. The train disappears into the non-track-circuited siding. The route should clear automatically, what you remember is probably having to cancel the train description - which is prototypical, as the system can only track signalled moves. " said: At 0019 I had a message that 5L22-S was routed off-route and made non-ARS. As detailed in the manual, there isn't very much space between the access points and signal M405, so you (or ARS) have to set a forward route to give the train sufficient space to reverse clear of the siding points. Unfortunately, this means that as soon as the train passes M405, its description will step forward to the next signal, which catches out ARS - it's just one of the limitations of the system you have to deal with. Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Duplicate train means that the ARS has found two identical TDs somewhere in the Sim and is confused, not that there are literally two identical trains. There is a random debug message - does not affect anything. Off planned path simply means the ARS has found a TD in a Berth it was not expecting to find it and is not sure what to do with it (obviously). As we say: ARS has it's limitations and is no more than an aid; some times you will have to nudge it, sometime hold it back by collaring signals or locking points. Anyway,I see you seem to have resolved so that's good. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Pinza |

Embarrassed at querying things that are fully covered in the manual! Motherwell is looking like a challenging but great sim. Much appreciate the patience and help from people on this forum, not least the creators... Log in to reply |

[quote="Jan" post=55889[/quote]Looks like a debug message left in by accident - probably related to the hand point operation for Weighs CS.quote] I think I have found another debug left in. 5B72 enters from Weighs CS at 05:34 and initially displays on the message board "entering off planned path" then "duplicated in the area" after I interpose the Train identification but then what appears to be a debug message "AB done train5B72flag0" appears. Again I think related to the same hand point operation for Weighs CS And again the same with 5L01. Geoff Last edited: 24/02/2014 at 18:02 by northroad Reason: Additional info Log in to reply |

Northroad, you'll find all trains coming out of Weighs CS exhibit this behaviour. Just interpose outcoming TD at berth at M405 and ignore all debug messages and train duplicated messages and all should be fine. Most trains need to be routed via M393 which seems to need a manual route setting. Soon get used to it! Log in to reply |
