Playing Payware Sims on Desktop and Laptop 22/02/2014 at 15:06 #56007

Hello,

Apologies if this has been asked before - just direct me to the right place if so.

I have recently acquired a laptop and would like to play the payware sims I already have installed on my desktop on the laptop?

What is the licencing position on this? Do I have to buy the same sim twice, or is there a system where I can use the laptop/desktop interchangeably with my payware sims?

Thanks,

Duncan.

You only buy the licence once HOWEVER you are only permitted to have one licence allocated to a single PC/Laptop at a time so if you brought Motherwell you could only use it on your laptop if you wanted to use it on your PC you would have to remove the licence from the Laptop.

Open the license manager on your desktop and remove the relevant licenses from that machine. Then open the license manager on your Laptop and allocate them there.

If you switch between computers regularly, my advice is to get into the habit of leaving the licence manager open while you're running Simsig, and then remove the licence when you've finished. Then your licences are unallocated by default, so when you sit down at a new computer you don't need to go to the other one first to move the licence.

(This is what I do to be able to run Simsig on a PC/laptop at home and a laptop at work.)
