I have noticed that stafford has been updated. Couple of questions, ( 1 ) Do i delete the V2.6.4. and install the new one V3.0. ( 2 ) I have added extra traffic to the old version ( 2.6.4.) Is it possibly to transferr the extra traffic to the new version ( 3.0), or will i have to input it in again. Log in to reply |

Loader and exe will not clash so there is no need to delete the old one to get the new one to work. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: splash |

However, under the current loader arrangements, any train which the TT analyser will not validate does not enter the sim. As the advice previously given indicates, start the sim with the transferred TT then run the TT analyser (F4 - Tools 1 - Analyse now). This will give a pop-up with the errors listed. You can't edit the TT while the pop-up is showing, but the information in the pop-up is also saved as a .txt file in the same folder as the TT. You can open the .txt file with something like Notepad and then edit the TT accordingly. The easiest way to do the edits is to open the TT for a train shown as an error by the analyser and click the "Validate" button. This will indicate where the TT needs to be changed. Then save TT with the changes, re-start the sim wiith the saved TT and everything should work OK. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 16/03/2014 at 18:27 by postal Log in to reply The following user said thank you: splash |

It runs via the Loader, which works on 64-bit systems.

I seem to have a problem. i cannot transfer the timetable with the extra traffic in version ( 2.6.4. ) to the new version ( 3.0 ) for stafford. I have downloaded the new version of stafford but no extra timetables are in it except the one that is with the sim. How do i transfer my version with extra traffic into the updated version. Other than that i will have to put it in again. I have added extra freight and passenger trains as well as edit couple of paths for some. Any help would be grateful.

Most (all?) of the entry locations have changed on Ver 3.0 so if the timetable was written for Ver 2.6.4 then these will all have to be changed to work on the new version. Additionally, timing points at Rugeley, Penkridge and Rickerscote were (I think) not mandatory on Ver 2.6.4 but the timetable editor would automatically enter these in the timetable. However, if you validate a V2.6.4 timetable in the Ver 3.0 editor it removes these entries and they have to be added as they are now mandatory timing points. Planotransitophobic! " said:Still having problems transferring timetable to new updated versionYou would be more likely to get a response to help you solve the problem if you gave a few more details (like whether you can't find the folder where you need to put your v2.6.4 TT, the loader will find the TT but it won't load into the sim or the TT loads but no trains appear). “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

Could anyone tell me if the extra timetables for stafford run on the new version. I have tried some of them and nothing is running on the latest version.

" said:Could anyone tell me if the extra timetables for stafford run on the new version. I have tried some of them and nothing is running on the latest version. We're going round in circles here. I have tried loading all of the available Stafford TTs into the newly-released loader version of Stafford, and the ONLY one that works is the 2009 one released with the new sim. The old ones will NOT work, as the new version of Stafford requires different entry and timing points for a lot of the locations. As a result, the TTs will not validate, and therefore the trains will not enter. There are two solutions to this: Someone re-writes the TTs, or you play the old Stafford ... Now now... As was previously mentioned in this thread, I am in the process of going through the 'Old Stafford' timetables and updating them to be able to use the new version of Stafford. This will take a little while to do. As for the option of going 'merge' with a timetable, this will not work for an older version of a timetable because... 1) Entry locations have been renamed to a more sensible ID. 2) Location / Path data has changed. **Aside from the fact, having a job, doing dev work, social life (no comment!), oh, and not forgetting being nagged by the other half!** Log in to reply The following user said thank you: postal |

" said:Now now...Howard I am sure there are lots of people hereabouts that would be glad to help with the work. I for one would be glad to take one of the old version TTs and edit it to run on the new sim but it does require a degree of coordination so that we don't have lots of duplicated work. If you would be willing to spend a short amount of time coordinating rather than a lot of time converting we can probably get things done quicker and with less hassle for yourself. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

Another way to do the conversion: use ConvData to convert the timetable to text form. Go through it with an editor, changing all the entry point and location codes that have changed (use global search and replace). Then convert it back to timetable form. That will deal with much of the work without having to do it all by hand.

I've used ConvData a lot in the past but not had much joy getting it to work in Loader sims. I got Quote: *** Fatal error: Unexpected item, wanted string got unknown (80)when I tried exporting the timetable I'm working on to text. The ConvData manual doesn't give any details what "exit code 1" means so I've pretty much given up on ConvData in the Loader sim era. Planotransitophobic! Log in to reply |
