Playing Exeter Summer 2006 v4.0 at Beginner Level: 6C99 stops at signal 86 on its way to Newton Abbot P2, shortly after 02:10. The driver needs to be told to pass 86 at danger before the train will move. Signal 86 is obviously approach-controlled, but I can't figure out why it doesn't clear spontaneously once 6C99 is close to it. Maybe I'm missing something obvious. No mention of this in the Exeter forum or manual that I can find. Thanks for your advice. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

Nothing obvious appearing as to why the signal wouldn't clear, but restroking (cancelling and resetting) the route works.

I just opened the save game, cancelled the route at signal 86, then set it again - it cleared immediately. Not sure why it wasn't green before though tbh. EDIT: That pesky JamesN was too quick Username TIM in multiplayer Last edited: 11/04/2014 at 01:11 by Temple Meads Log in to reply The following user said thank you: maxand |

Max, did you over-set the route for 6C99 whilst a previous train was already in platform 2?

Apologies, signal 86 is NOT approach-controlled. Tried setting the route from an earlier save and 6C99 cleared all the greens as if nothing had happened. Still don't know how I got myself into the original mess but will continue playing with this save when I get time. Thanks to all.

" said:Max, did you over-set the route for 6C99 whilst a previous train was already in platform 2?I suspect this is indeed what happened - the calling-on route is set and the conditions to show a proceed aspect aren't being met as the platform is now empty. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

I can't recall, but 6V20 had only recently backed into Hackney Sidings before 6C99 came along, so maybe it had something to do with that. Will replay this scenario to see what happens.

Will replay this scenario to see what happens.Sounds like 6V20 went past signal 86, causing it to go to red, but since the rear of the train didn't pass the signal the route didn't drop out.
