How about a browser-based client option? Most of the implementation work would be in adding an http server to the sims of course - I assume it would be best to write a sim-independent server module which wouldn't be part of a standard install and would act as a proxy client. I would foresee it working in view-only mode unless specifically enabled, and then only on donationware,, so it would partly function as a "better demo mode" for payware sims - if you're thinking about buying a sim, connect to a multiplayer game and watch it before you buy. Good but might take some work to implement and maintain. How about an official SimSig YouTube channel containing video clips with voiceovers? This could include multiplayer sessions. Googling SimSig youtube turned up several independent channels, such as this one. Nice if they could all come under one umbrella channel. Last edited: 25/06/2014 at 13:19 by maxand Log in to reply |

If you want it observer-only, a rough approximation would be trivial: go to {twitch|justin|any other} computer game video streaming website, set up an account, and play SimSig with the publishing tool running. It would only be a rough approximation because viewers would see exactly what you see rather than being able to scroll around the sim freely, but it would be a start. It would also use far more bandwidth than it needed to and probably require a beefier computer on the publisher end, but it would be a quick start to see if it’s popular with viewers. I do have a Twitch account, so maybe I can run through a few simulations, If people pop suggestions for sims/dates & times I'll see what I can do.
