What sort of temporary arrangement would be set up if the Avonmouth BHT loading chutes were actually out of service (as they are in the current Bristol sim)?

Presumably if the chutes themselves were defective the BHT would be useless?

They could resort to diggers etc. to load them- that's the method used routinely at some locations. Although I don't know whether there's a siding suitable for doing that at Avonmouth.

I work for Bristol S+T and from what i've seen if they can't use the BBHT all the coal trains have to run from Portbury Docks, where the coal actually comes from via the conveyor. the only time they use diggers there is to clear up mess such as when a set of doors are left open, thankfully the last time that happened the last bit of coal was before the switch diamonds!
