Now available here.

Description:

A fairly busy modern day TT. It's 'changeover day' for holidaymakers in the South West, so all available stock is out to cater for the demand. All times have been taken from Open Train Times.

Exeter New Yard

Midnight start: 5L28 seeds in Exeter New Yard. 5L65 should be routed onto the same line when it leaves Exeter, to avoid confilt with 5C32 later.

0445 start: 5L28 seeds at signal 648, with 5A10 seeding at 646.

Service pattern:

Cross Country

1tph between Plymouth and the North East, with some extras to Paignton throughout the day. All four HSTs are out, diagrams from the 125 group's website. I can't find 220 and 221 diagrams, so 221s have been used throughout.

South West Trains
===============

Operate an hourly service between Exeter and London Waterloo using Class 159s.

5L28 is the train that seeds in Exeter New Yard. 5L65 should be routed into the same line when it leaves Exeter.

First Great Western

FGW operate 1tph between Paddington and the South West, with extras to Paignton throughout the day using HSTs.

The 'Night Riviera' sleeper runs overnight, using a class 57+ Mk 3s

'Triangle of Doom' services operate as normal (generally 1tph Exmouth- Paignton and 1 tph Exmouth- Barnstaple) with extras to Paignton throughout the day.

1tph Cardiff- Taunton.

Extras throughout the day between Plymouth and Exeter.

I've not been able to find rolling stock diagrams for these, so 143s are used on the Triangle, 158s on Cardiff- Taunton and 150s all other services. The exception is 2E75/2C51 which use a Class 57+ seated sleeper coaches that would otherwise be idle at Penzance. This train runs round in Exeter New Yard.

Any questions, problems, bugs etc. please feel free to post below.

Enjoy!

158s on Cardiff- Taunton

Enjoy!
These trains normally run as either 150 or a 150/153 combo not normally as 158's (See some 158's on the route, but is the exception rather than the rule)

Or just about any other combination of units that FGW can think up and kick out.

Don't think I've seen a 143 on there yet (Oh wait, Yea there was that once, and yes I did intentionally miss that train)

Thanks Steamer for waiting to inform us until the TT is actually available for download, and also for including a copy of the description in this forum thread and also in the download zip as a text file. This is how it should be.

I'm looking forward to playing this even though you have warned us it is a busy TT!

I've noticed that when selecting the version of this TT with an 04:45 start, the clock still starts at 00:00. Any fix for this?

:doh I've made that mistake again...

For now, type 04:45:00 into the 'Start Time' box when you select the TT. I'll fix it in the next version (should have 04:45 specified in the General tab).

Thanks Steamer, I overlooked the settable starting time.

However, there might be more to it than this. After I set starting time to 4:45:00 AM (my loader won't allow me to enter the initial 0), the sim commenced running at that time but seeded trains failed to appear.

I guess I'll have to bypass this by selecting the 00:00:00 TT version until this is cleared up. NP.

When you manually change the time on start up the tick box "Seed trains" goes to un-ticked, if you re-tick it the trains will still seed.

Alternatively, you can still play the 04:45 version and set the speed to 'Fastest' until 04:45, it should only take a few minutes. The seeds will still appear and the timetable work as it should do.

I've just downloaded this WTT and expanded it to the correct location (Exeter folder), but it doesn't then appear in the list of available WTTs for the sim. Default locations used.
Any suggestions?

Just to confirm, have the files definitely gone to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SimSig\Timetables\Exeter?

Version 1.1 is now available here- sorry the title still says V1.0. This version fixes the issues raised above and tweaks the timetable description.

Version 2.0 has now been released, and is available here. This version is compatible with my Westbury Summer Saturday 2014 TT, and will be compatible with my forthcoming Bristol TT.

The following changes have been made:

  • HST length fixed

  • Headcode corrected (1A37, was 1A87)

  • GW rolling stock allocations now accurate- thanks to Officer Dibble for providing me with the information.

  • Freight and charters altered to allow compatibility with Westbury and Bristol timetables. This reflects what ran on 16/08/2014. Changes are:
  • Addition of 2 light engine movements in the morning

  • Addition of Engineering train to possession at about 21:15

  • Charter altered- original charter train removed, new one added which runs via Castle Cary. New charter runs to West Somerset Railway at a similar time to the one in the original timetable.

  • Although the possession at Wellington did not occur on 16/08/2014, the engineering train from the original timetable has been left in for interest.

Version 2.1 now available here. A few under-the-hood tweaks, nothing noticeable.
