Can anyone advise me where this location is please as I have no idea where it is or what signal prevents onward movement as 0208 Crewe Coal Yd - Dungeness CEGB (DRS 2xCl37+2 FNA, 63m)is booked relief there.

Any help would be great as it's not a area I travel over often if at all

It's the location marked 'RP' at Sudbury Junction, near Wembley Loco Sidings.

One thing I have found (and a warning to this effect is included in the manual), is that in order for the sim to recognise a train having actually arrived at the RP, you need to set a route for it past signal 830/934, to 828/932. But when you do this, the track circuit ahead of signal 828/932 will NOT clear when the train comes to a stand. (Am I right in thinking that this is because a train standing at the RP is not actually standing at either signal 828 or 932?) This means you won't be able to signal any up trains over Sudbury Junction, past the stopped train and up towards signal 826.

The above applies to up passenger trains running towards Kensington Olympia. So what I do is stop an up train requiring the RP at signal 830/934, and hold it there until around five minutes before it's due to depart the RP. I then signal it up one more signal, thus causing it to call at the RP and change drivers. It therefore spends as little time as possible blocking other movements in the area.

I found this out the hard way the first time I ran a freight train to the RP, and a 2Oxx train entered shortly afterwards. I had to abandon the TT of the freight to get it to run through the area, and out of the way.

If you believe the official timetables then trains get relieved at WM936. However, nothing but the shortest trains will fit behind 936 without obstructing the Up Slow so in reality trains actually get relieved at the pointwork over Sudbury Jn. Yes, it's inconvenient as it locks up he junction while it takes place, but that's what happens in real life, folks. We did try various solutions so the timetables would not have to be amended but setting WM936 as a passing time (and altering the time accordingly) and adding the RP as an additional location was the only solution that really worked.

Nowadays,Freightliner intermodel trains relieving point are Brent goods 1&2,and high level goods, and ocassionally Brent rec dep 1 & 2.( adjacent to DRS ex EWS buildings in Brent sdgs)
The Isle of Grain flt trains used willsden reief lines "bridge hole"near to Brent sdgs, but these services no longer run.I think GBR still use rp at Sudbury Jn.
