In real life, how do drivers announce their readiness in the middle sidings? There is no trts provided, so presumably they call the signaller, however this is not simulated. Do signallers really just set the route at start time? Log in to reply |

I expect the driver calls in on either the SPT or the GSM-R

Aylesbury Sidings springs to mind, and I've certainly seen train crews call sheffield PSB before collecting a train from one of the Station sidings. Oxford Down Carriage Sidings and Goodrington Carriage Sidings also require a call to the signaller before departure. I daresay there are plenty of these nationwide.
