Hi everyone. Are there any known issues (or real-life traps) with the Moorgate auto route-setting? A delay of even a couple of minutes on a departure causes it to start routing everything to the wrong platform without asking, and sometimes it'll misplatform a train even when the correct platform is available (with all tracks free and normal). No ARS system I'm aware of would wrong-road a train without the signaller's approval? Seems I have to watch it like a hawk whether it's in auto or not! Good old ARS. It's your best friend until it sets you up... Log in to reply |

I thought Moorgate was an auto selective TDM override control that operated a very basic use the 1st available platform with a diffault to using platform 9 1st if the route was available and not a true ARS system which was developed some years after Kings Cross was commissioned.

Have a look at this post on the Signalbox forum, which describes the auto-working at Moorgate. Basically, it always tries to route trains into platfrom 9 unless that one is occupied, or a route is set from it towards Old Street.
