LOL...Jimgos, you of all people should know by now the standard answer to your question was always going to be "It will be ready when it's ready!". For those who aren't aware, SimSig's development policy (for want of a better phrase) is not to release details of sims currently in development unless they are being made available for a Beta test or are shown off at a meet. We are working as fast as possible to get new and updated sims out but there is an awful lot of detail that goes into a sim (and we are talking 1000's of hours of work here) and it's not something you can just throw together. You also need to factor into this that all the development team have real jobs and a life away from SimSig and we do this for fun (believe it or not!). So be patient. The sims will be released when they are ready. Log in to reply |

Up until recently I'd have 100% agreed with the "don't ask, it'll be ready when it's ready" policy but now that there's a screenshot of an as yet unreleased sim on the welcome page people are naturally going to ask about it. It's not going to be much of a welcome if a newcomer gets snapped at (seen it happen on this and the old forum) for asking about it.

I think thats a fair point you mentioned sloppyjag as I notticed the pic of Preston Park but that wasnt the reason I raised this point its just as its christmas time I thought we might see some new simulation to play about with as Bristol has dissapeared just like the Croydon sims either that or I am doing something wrong or looking in the wrong place I just hope that I havent opened up a can of worms as this was never to be my intention. I will look forward to whatever comes whenever it comes. Log in to reply |

The Three Bridges betas (Croydon, Gatwick and Brighton) got their first outing at the last London meet. No doubt they are still being worked on somewhere. Jimgos, Peter replied to your earlier post in the Bristol thread, saying that Bristol will be taken offline until the expiry date problem has been resolved. As per Lardybiker's post the "It will be ready when its ready" quote is still the only answer you will get Andy Log in to reply |

I don't think anybody was snapping at anybody. Preston Park happened to be a picture to hand with example graphics of several features and was about the right size (actually slightly too big in hindsight). Meanwhile I've tried to defend my actions when I could have been fixing things. Oh well, another time for development work maybe. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

I think the Preston Pk pic was gonna get the majority of us SimSigers thinking as to the fact that this might be nearly done it all seems like a tease I am desparate to try this sorry for any problems that I have caused by making the firt post on this subject but someone else may of done the same in time.

No, Jimgos. It could *only* be you! The number of times I have seen you asking "When will it be ready?" is too numerous to count. I wonder if any reply has EVER been anything but "It will be ready when it is ready"?

I think if someone asks this type of question again there is no need for numerous reponders chipping in their ha'pennys worth. If it's a new enquirer and you feel a response is necessary simply refer them politely to the FAQ on the topic and that's the end of it. If it's a serial questioners then either ignore them or an administrator will contect them off-board asking them to desist from asking. Clogging the board up with this stuff is clearly pointless.
