Not sure if this is a bug, as there may be an operational reason. Playing the new 2014 timetable, so on the modern layout... I totally forgot I'd got a train coming in from Letchworth and cancelled the Hitchin up starter to prepare for a train coming from P'boro. It invoked the 2min approach locking, but even though the train was approaching signal 944 I didn't get an ACOA penalty (nor the associated stopping at the signal to speak to control). Is there a reason why the sim might be coded that a driver wouldn't complain? Log in to reply |

Maybe you canceled it just in time so the driver didn't see the signal yet?

Will be dependent on the sighting distance[sup]*[/sup] of the relevant signal, the train is occupying the TC that invokes the Approach Locking but the driver hasn't yet sighted the signal. [sup]*[/sup] The SimSig default sighting is 300m, for info. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Didnt know SimSig had a way of recognising how far away the train was (maybe very naive of me!) Thanks chaps, will still avoid throwing signals back in future Log in to reply |
