A doddle with the ARS on (during TT testing I was running at 2x and 3x). Makes you work a bit harder with the ARS off.

I would suggest Paisley is very doable as a single player if you are moderately competent.

Yes, I'm halfway through my first non-ARS go at Paisley, and I've been surprised at just how 'do-able' it has been. The clockface ditto-repeato nature of the passenger service helps (except for the peak hour anomalies that can catch you out) - you just need to make intelligent use of the auto buttons to avoid any whack-the-mole syndrome!

In short, this is rather a gem - looking forward to having a go with gross delays turned on.

The fact the simulation replicates the design of the NX panel does help a lot. Gourock and Largs lines looping around on Panels 1 & 2 respectively means that you can see most of the control area for both of these areas on a single monitor and good use of the hot keys makes it easy to nip around the whole control area.

One omission on the NX panel was the introduction of 'Auto' buttons on the section from Arkleston Junction to Gilmour Street - these didn't exist on the late 1960's panel when this section was 4 tracked. A friend who is a retired Senior Operating Manager did comment to me on a visit that they should have introduced these as part of the later scheme.

When completed my 1983 WTT will add a new dimension - less passenger trains on the Ayr/Largs lines - but with the addition of local Trip Freights visiting the various local yards, including some of those on the Gourock line (e.g. Bishopton).
