I am continuing to try and write a timetable that will let Feltham chain with Wimbledon and having hit an issue with the Feltham portion that Clive has been looking into I have continued with Wimbledon. Once again I have an issue that seems to be connected with the Waterloo to Waterloo loop services. Not knowing the full effect of using UID's, having not created a timetable that way before or simply just doing with what was familiar to me from previous timetable attempts I am entering head codes that are 6 digits long. My intention being to suffix the head code say 2O03 with -1 (i.e. 2O03-1) for services outgoing from Waterloo and with -2 (i.e. 2O03-2) for services entering Waterloo. The change being implemented at say Twickenham with a next service entry. Someone might advise if this is feasible. Anyway on entering a service to the Wimbledon timetable I have now had the following message come up Access violation at address 40006880 in module 'rtl60.bpl'. Read of address 0000002C Perhaps I should be following the new and using the UID function but old habits die hard. UIDs are quite easy, they are simply 'unique identifiers', so rather than making the headcode 2O03-2, you could give it the correct headcode as 2O03, and make 2O03-2 the UID. The UID should follow it from origin to destination, be that around the whole of Feltham and back to Waterloo or wherever!

Thanks once again Clive, your help is very much appreciated. Unfortunately the error message has not raised it's head again since my original post. I have continued with the inputting for the timetable and everything appears to be working just as it should. I did have open some pdf. files at the time as well as the Wimbledon sim and did wonder if that might have had some bearing but I am still doing exactly the same and as I say I have had no further problems. Clive, I have now had the same access violation code come up on a further 2 occasions. This only seems to happen when I am inputting services on the Waterloo Reading Windsor lines at the moment. It does not appear to affect the ability to input further services once the message has been closed. I did have 3 pdf files open as well as the sim timetable editor at the time of the message. The last things I did were inputting of 2C30 Reading to Waterloo and it's return working 2C33, went to the analyser to see what needed linking and when I clicked on 2c30 in the analyser to open it's timetable to add the next activity the error message came up. I have just removed the next activity and then joined it again with the same method and nothing happened. I am at a loss and sorry I cannot be of any more help. So annoying...... Hmm, I can't repeat it. Some investigation tells me that this address is part of the code for copying constant strings into Delphi strings. So this error shouldn't happen. Are you running Wine? This has been known to do strange things with rtl60.bpl. Log in to reply |
