Hi, sorry if I'm missing the obvious but is there a link anywhere for donations for Derby? I want to make a donation but can't see any link in the shop.

Again sorry if I'm being a bit thick... wouldn't be the first time..

Do you just do a general donation?

Probably an oversight - I will raise it on Mantis.

I was going to do that a few days ago but noted there was already one in place but with a note "do not publish yet" so left it for whomever said that to deal with it.

Prompted by this thread, and much enjoying Derby, I thought I ought to donate. When I've donated or bought from you in the past, there has always been an option to pay by credit card rather than through PayPal. I can no longer find this option. To pay by credit card it seems you now have to create a PayPal account regardless! Sorry, but I really don't want a PayPal account. Am I missing something, or has the system changed?

WEll, I just tried to make a donation but when I got to the checkout page it said "No Payment Methods Found". So that's that then, for now at least. Will try again tomorrow

Just tried it, did you not get this option?

Will just point out that depending on the country depends on if this option shows. Some places don't allow you to buy without an account (Germany being one if I remember correctly).

No, Peter. That's likely the screen I used to get, but now if I click the "pay by credit card option (image 1), I am asked to create a PayPal account (image 2). ...and I'm in the UK.

I have heard of this problem before - but not for UK users. The users managed to pay with a mobile instead because, bizarrely, the option to pay without an account was not visible from the desktop PayPal website, but was available from the mobile PayPal website. This page suggests that the option is determined by location, which itself is determined by IP address. Some ideas to try on this page.

Following the suggestions, I've tried using a mobile and another browser (I was using Chrome). On them I get a blue bar at the top of the PayPal screen saying "No payment methods found" and the only way forward seems to be to "Login or create a new account". No mention of credit/debit cards anywhere.

Richard, I just tried a similar donation again and got to the blue bar screen you saw as above. I then logged into Simsig (wasn't originally logged in) and reloaded the page and then it gave me the options to pay, i.e. Paypal account or credit card.

Although I don't live in the UK I did use an IP proxy (actually a Firefox plugin) to make think Simsig think I was (just for this, I don't normally do this). Please try to log into your Simsig account and then try to make the donation. Hopefully it may work this time.

Well Flymo, it sounded like a good idea - thanks for that - but it just gets me back to my first two screenshots. PayPal won't offer me the option to use a credit/debit card without having a PayPal account, it seems. I'm on a UK British Telecom IP address and you don't get much more officially UK than that! In the past I've bought several sims and donated money to S Humberside (my local patch) with no problems. Colour me puzzled...

Just tried to make a purchase (payware) and got the same "No payment methods found". I am also on BT and have purchased many times before.

I have access to a Canadian ISP and that works fine.
