Now approved and available to download here. Description A 2015 weekday timetable for the Birmingham New Street area. Times have been taken from Open Train Times and Real Time Trains, with freight headcodes from Network Rail's WTT. Virgin Trains diagrams are from the VT Yahoo group. Stock allocations are broadly accurate, however I would be grateful for any more information where assumptions have been made. This timetable is compatible with Woverhampton 2015, and compatible timetables for Coventry and Aston are in development. Service pattern: London Midland London Midland is the dominant operator at New Street, and operates a mix of local and express services. 6tph Four Oaks- Longbridge (the Cross City line). 3tph continue to Redditch in the south, 2tph to Lichfield City and 2tph to Lichfield Trent Valley in the north. 3tph New Street- London Euston, calling at intermediate stations 2tph New Street- Walsall, with hourly extensions to Rugeley Trent Valley 2tph New Street- Liverpool semi-fast 2tph Wolverhampton- Walsall, calling at all intermediate stations 1tph New Street- Shrewsbury 1tph New Street- Hereford 1tph New Street- Birmingham International 323s are used on all Cross City and some Wolverhampton- Walsall services. 350s are used on all other electric services. The traction used is correct, however 110mph 350s are assumed throughout as I can't find diagrams. For the same reason, 2-car 170s are assumed on all diesel workings, with the exception of the single Class 150 diagram to Hereford. Cross Country Cross Country operates long-distance express services, all of which pass through New Street. 1tph Plymouth- Edinburgh, with extensions to various destinations throughout the day 1tph Reading- Newcastle, extended once every two hours to Southampton Central 1tph Manchester- Bristol, extended to Paignton a few times a day 1tph Bournemouth- Manchester 2tph New Street- Leicester, extended once an hour to Stanstead Airport 1tph New Street- Nottingham 1tph Cardiff Central- Nottingham A mixture of Class 220s, 221s and a few HSTs are used on North/South services. HST diagrams are accurate, 220s have been assumed for all other services. Class 170s are used on Leicester/Nottingham trains, 2-car trains have been assumed throughout. Virgin Trains 3tph London- New Street, with an hourly extension to/from Scotland. Two trains a day continue to Shrewsbury, and early morning/late night trains continue to Wolverhampton. Trains are a mixture of 9 and 11 car Pendolinos, and Class 221s. Diagrams are accurate. Note that VT services to or via New Street run under a Class 9 headcode to distinguish them from those running via Nuneaton. They should be treated as Class 1 for regulation purposes. Arriva Trains Wales 1tph Birmingham International- Shrewsbury. Destination alternates every two hours between Holyhead and Aberystwyth/Pwllheli. Class 158s (in various multiples) are used on these services, diagrams are fairly accurate. Other notes Always read the timetable! Some trains don't take the route you might expect them to (especially if you're used to the supplied timetable), especially in the early morning and late evening. Platform allocations are based on the WTT, however I've altered them where appropriate so you shouldn't get conflicts. Any problems, questions or bugs please feel free to post on the forum Enjoy! " said:I think you mean Perry Barr To confirm, (as there's two) is this 1G00 the 04:42 ex. Chester? If so, the train is booked via Aston, are you trying to send it via Soho? The location sequence entered is valid and the driver will accept the route to NS266. I get this message quite a lot in the first few minutes of playing this timetable... I ran an update before I started to play. Internal error: Exception: 1M00inDostation(EAccessViolation:Accessviolationataddress0050134E in module'SimSigloader.exe. Read address 0000000) and then it all crashes and dies. Help? Always a trend setter. Is there somewhere more appropriate I can raise this? I can't send a save, because I never get the chance to do anything before it all crashes! Log in to reply |

When I play the 2015 0445 start, the error does not seem to occur. However, 5V01 when running into New Street does not stop up its location from Borderesley junction to New Street, so just sits at the end of the platform doing nothing until I manually step up the timetable. Log in to reply |

It'll be fixed in the next release. For anyone who doesn't know, to solve the problem open F2, right click 5V01, Timetable Options> Edit Timetable, click the location 'Birmingham New Street' once to highlight it and click 'Set Next/Current location'. Then click 'OK' to close the editor. "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." (Avenue Q) Log in to reply |

9G46 is booked into 5B to work 5W48. it refuses to fit only into 5B and called in at signal 202 while straddling the north end of the station. once signalled into 5A, it then locks the route through 5A, meaning that when 2Y01 wants to use 5A it can't.

Version 1.1 now released. The timetable has been updated to include accurate stock workings (thanks to JamesN for his assistance) and correct the platform clashes reported above.

Hi Steamer. Not sure if it's been discovered previously but 5P06, 5N04 and 5R06 have a bit of trouble all fitting into 8 right at the start of the timetable (they do fit, but the way the game handles them, they don't) The way I solved it was: - Immediately set the mid platform signal so 5N04 goes to middle of platform - 5G49 (which becomes 5R06) arrives. - 5N04 must then be reversed to face down to "buffer" up to 5R06. Only then will 5G58 (which becomes 5P06) successfully fit into 8 with the other two units. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong... But if I take it as given that the seed 5N04 is rightly placed, 5G49/5R06 stops outside the platform fouling the throat. Log in to reply |

Ah- I can't find a way to make that one work, as it really needs the train to be seeded straddling 189 and 191. I'll adjust it so that 5G49 enters as a nine car, stops near-end, and splits to form 5N04 and 5R06.

As far as I know, it ain't broken, so I ain't fixing it! The platforms are as shown in advance for a particular day on RTT (so I assume they're as per WTT), with adjustments made to prevent clashes. Missing trains- Which ones are missing? Note that some of the trains in that book are marked MO or FO. This timetable was based on a typical Wednesday. Wrong ID- again, can you tell me which one? A couple of notes: 5P07 is booked through 10 with the B end already occupied. 11 is free. 1G00 incorrectly has Perry Barr North Jn, should be South Jn. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Steamer |

I've corrected this in the next version, using 11A. " said: 1G00 incorrectly has Perry Barr North Jn, should be South Jn.Why? The timetable validates and is an accurate reflection of the actual schedule. Changing North Jn to South Jn makes it invalid. I assume you're referring to the early morning ATW 1G00, as the late-night VT 1G00 runs on the normal route via Dudley Port and Soho South Jn? I suspect the problem with 1G00 was that it managed to run via the Stour Valley lines whilst chained to Wolverhampton! That explains why its timetable looked rather odd at the New Street end...
