Thanks for another excellent simulation! There appears to be an era bug at Dinton- in 1980s mode the text and track associated with these frames is visible, but the controls themselves are missing. In Modern mode, the text has gone but the release buttons are there. The frames can only be accessed in the Show> Lever Frames menu in modern mode. Yes, think an era gremlin has crept in. Will check it.

Sorry to point this out but there's another era bug; The east yard only acts as an exit point in the modern era not the 1980's one as the manual and timetables say it should. Posting here as I've no idea if they might be linked or not but given they're both era issues.

Couple of minor era gremlins crept in that unfortunately affect the 1980 era which need an update, hopefully this evening.

I would very much like to run the 1980s era timetable, which looks the more interesting of the two. Grateful for any update info. Mike Log in to reply |

First: thanks for the update! I'm now running the 80s timetable and trying to work out how to use the Dinton GFs. So I've sent train 6Y62 into Dinton MoD (Air) using 314 Dinton West GF, but now I'm trying to figure out how to return the block instruments to normal. I first normalised the points, then tried to click the "Train clear of line" plunger. That didn't work. I tried locking then releasing the GF and trying again. Still didn't seem to have any effect. Then I locked the GF and returned the Tisbury block instrument to normal. I am now unable to release the GF, but pressing the plunger causes the Train Clear of Line light to start flashing. The block instruments are still showing Train In Section though. What do I do now? Last edited: 19/05/2015 at 01:01 by Muzer Log in to reply |

The detailed sequence to lock the GF is:- 1 When the train is clear of the GF points (message appears to confirm this), withdraw the hand signal, restore the points and FPL, then lock the frame by withdrawing the Annett key; 2 Press the 'Train Clear of Line' plunger, the lamp above will flash; 3 Right click on the GF Release button to cancel the GF Release; 4 The GF should lock (N lamp lit steady), and then the GF lamp will go out, and the block restore to Normal. Ah. So, am I completely stuck now? I cannot release the ground frame in order to lock it again. EDIT: Yeah, I loaded a previous snapshot and everything seemed to work fine. So is this a bug or can the real system get "stuck" like this if you do things in the wrong order? To clarify, I believe it was my resetting the block instruments that caused it. EDIT2: Huh, after loading the snapshot where I was stuck, upon loading the block instruments both reset to normal and everything seemed fine. This does seem like a bug if reloading the save makes it go away! Last edited: 19/05/2015 at 02:07 by Muzer Log in to reply |

Post a copy of the save, and I'll have a look and see.

This is the snapshot that was made when I was stuck, but if you load it the block instruments reset to normal.

if you haven't already seen it, on YouTube you can get a good view of the Dinton area at 11.00 into this 1987 Salisbury to Exeter cab ride video including a train at the RAF Chilmark end. Looking now on Google Earth the placing of the trackwork as depicted in the sim and this video is hard to discern.

I have both block instruments at normal and both in accept with the white light illuminated but cannot use the Annetts key etc?Are you clicking the green buttons to release the frames (labelled 'F')? Turning both switches to 'Accept' lights the 'GF free to release' light, and you can then release both frames. Once released, the Annetts key can be released in the lever frame window (Show> Lever Frames).
