Salisbury East CHS #2... 09/05/2015 at 21:59 #72018

Hi Andy

I have started a new 2015 timetable for Salisbury, and the Carriage Working Notice shows several empty stock movements from #2 Road to Platform 6. In 2000 mode, this road by default is blocked off.

Could we perhaps have a 2010 mode that reinstates this road please?

Cheers

Andrew

Could it be an error in the document? I believe SWT once diagrammed stock to use Guildford No.2 siding even though it was OOU...

My Quail map dating from November 2008 shows Down Siding 1 and Down Siding 2 in use, with the three other sidings NIRU. So I suspect the CWN is correct, and either the sim is wrong or the siding reopened since 2000. Of course, it is possible that both the map and the CWN are wrong.

Try manually removing the collars and then running trains in as per normal. A few sims have collars which are era specific but dont actually lock out equipment any more than a user placed one does

If that works just pop a note in the tt notes.

Spoken to a guy who used to be a signaller there, who also lives in Salisbury. Definitely in use...

I've just tested this method, and it appears to work fine.

Will have a play with this later. As a workaround for the time being I have stuck the empty stock for 1L14 in the East Yard Headshunt seeing as that isn't used for anything, but I will have a fiddle with it to see what I can do. I know I can get something out of CHS #2, as I have already tried that using the method described. What I haven't yet tested is how to get something in, as I haven't yet been able to remove the Track Isolation...

Go into incident control panel (F11), track circuits, click the mouse icon, click the track circuit in question, then select "None" in the Isolations box.

That's the issue. I have tried that, but I cannot get it to select the Track Circuit...

Looking at the panels photos again, it seems that it's CS#1 that was OOU, with the hand points clipped Rev. I've amended the simulation, so that #2 is in use rather than #1, and will consider whether either siding is OOU in a later era.

Before you do that Andy, CHS #1 is also used by another train :yikes

To clarify, December 2014's Carriage Working Notice has 5L93 out of CHS#1, and 5L14 out of CHS#2, and I am assured both are definitely in use...

Right, I have just got more detail on this...

From a Former Signaller for this area (still signalling but not at Salisbury). Both Carriage Holding Sidings are open, however, #1 is only accessible to the Down Exeter. Will go into more detail with him on this later, as I'm about to go to work!

You only need to remove the signal collars, track isolations don't prevent a train using it, I think it's just a visual reminder.

They do in SimSig- attempting to set a route generates a 'Track Circuit(s) isolated message'.

You can get around it by pressing the 'Reminder Override' button prior to setting the route.
