Hello all I was playing Wembley Mainline and set the roue for 2T22 and then noticed this there are 2 double yellows and i believe that shouldn't happen. As you can see signal 332 next to Willesden north jn on the Up relief is displaying a double yellow and then the previous signal, signal 334 is also showing a double yellow too which I believe isn't right. running on loader V4.5.1 Wembley Mainline V1.1 Post has attachments. Yeah, I don't know about this particular case (though have you checked the manual?), but in many cases, it was discovered at some point that the signals are too close together to allow full braking distance on some trains/with some speeds (ie if going at line speed in unfavourable weather conditions and your first warning of a red ahead is the YY two signals before, you are going to SPAD), so they modified the system to make two signals show YY.

As stated, it's due to braking distances. The Great Eastern Main Line has loads of them too, up to three double yellows in sequence I believe.

It is correct. It is due to braking distances. They increased the line speed but didn't re-signal. I'll pop into Box this week and send you a pic of the exact sequences. We have a schematic of what it looks like. I'm sure Geoff or the researchers have a copy too. My phone is kaput or I would do it today Log in to reply |
