A few more Noel: - HU648 and HU646 are missing their emergency replacement buttons. - Can signal 645 get it's full ID of HM645? - HU1410 is actually positioned on the right hand side of the line on P8 (as a movement towards the tunnel from P8 would see it). - HU744R was repositioned years ago for sighting purposes and is now on the right hand side just before Thurstonland tunnel. It certainly can't be seen from Brockholes station, the sim diagram implies it is at that station. - HU701 is approach released from red (to clear it requires TC TBC occupied), unless HU707 is already showing a proceed aspect. - There is no indication on the panel as to the status of the barrow crossing. - The barrow crossing works differently in reality. It only operates when trains actually approach. If trains are far enough away, HU770 and HU763 will clear immediately and the crossing white lights only extinguish as trains get closer in order to give staff the appropriate warning time. For trains starting at P4 at HU763, this is too close, and the crossing must operate before HU763 clears (I seem to recall it's about a 30s delay from calling the route to the signal clearing). - Marsden GF, the sim allows restoration to normal of lever 3 despite it being locked by lever 2. - HU1401 and HU1402 should also clear to the UML when TC TCB is occupied, similarly to the up main when TC TAD is occupied; this is to effect the running round of various engineering trains which occasionally takes place there. - HU762 and HU764 are approach released for the route towards HU752; HU762 requires TAT or TAS, HU764 requires TBU or TBT. " said:" said: I'm very confused- you don't need an LOS to set the route from 1401 onto the UML, you just set the route to 703- a route which already exists in the simulation, although NorthSig suggests it should be permissive. Similarly 1402 can route to both the UM and UML, to signals 700 and 702. It definitely can't route to 701 and 703, as these signals are in the opposite direction! 1402 reads to both 700 and 702, and 1401 reads to both 705 and 703, which you have in the sim already. All can be also called for a permissive move, requiring TCB on the UML or TAD on the UM respectively. Without this it would be impossible to run round at Marsden. Engineering trains usually arrive in the UML, loco detaches, goes behind 1401, then via 705 arrives behind 1402, then is signalled back onto what was the rear of the train, in readiness for departing back towards Huddersfield. I always used the loop, but it was also possible to leave the train on the UM, and run the loco around using the UML via 703. 1401 would also clear onto an occupied UML or UM for attaching at the west end. There is no barrow crossing light on the panel. I think you may be getting confused with the proceed LED for signal 1413 which on the panel is inconsiderately placed directly on the barrow crossing symbol. (All Huddersfield position lights have separate LED bulbs for the danger and proceed indications). The other two lights that appear to be on the crossing are two of the red TC LEDs for TAU and TBV. The barrow crossing never worked as the sim has it, or the control tables you've seen say. It was done on approach of trains as I've described earlier, similar to how an AHB or crossing with Red/Green warning lights would work if one were there. Actually, the barrow crossing is now irrelevant as it was removed about 4 years ago, and eventually the interlocking updated to remove the time controls on the relevant signals. It took about 18 months between the two though! Someone else mentioned the Diggle signals being colour light for many years, so you're aware of those. Also Huddersfield has a slot control on DE24 which is used if there's a problem in Standedge tunnel and that signal needs to be placed to danger immediately (the tunnel belongs to the LNE region), but it probably doesn't need adding here as the Diggle area is already included fully. Thanks for addressing the other issues I raised, much appreciated. Log in to reply |

" said:Is there a "train measuring" feature for moves from 770 into Platform 5? I've noticed that 770 will not clear for that particular route unless *only* the track circuit immediately in approach is occupied. The signal clears just after the next track circuit back vacates. (The one by the LOS-1419) With 5 shorter than the rest it would make sense. Dave Log in to reply |
